With Labor Day weekend being the traditional time for the MDA telethon, I just wanted to mention an event that took place a few weeks ago. The MDA Madison Muscle Team Event, was a fundraiser that brought together “MDA Buddies” (children with this neuromuscular disease) and paired them with sports “MVP Buddies” for the evening. Aided by corporate sponsors Citgo, Morgan Stanley and Bachmann construction, the event included a a cocktail reception, silent auction, food stations, entertainment and photo opportunities with local, state and national athletes.
Three former Packers players were at the event meeting and greeting. Antonio Freeman, Ahman Green and William Henderson, along with other Wisconsin athletes, helped the MDA- Southern Wisconsin raise over $110,000.
