I’m still exhaling the sigh of relief from Mason Crosby’s made Field Goal on Sunday.

Anytime I read any Packers fan forum or anything on Twitter, I have to laugh at myself. I should be better prepared for the ridiculousness fans show during difficult games, but it just always catches me off guard.

The following is my timeline of Packer nation:

1st Quarter: “Why is Mike McCarthy going for a 4th down in Field Goal range? Certainly, going up two scores is a much better option than risking a 4th and 3.”

2nd Quarter: (Crosby makes worst FG I’ve ever seen). “Oh, makes sense now.”

1st Quarter: “Ty Montgomery might be the permanent replacement for Eddie Lacy.”

3rd Quarter: “Ty Montgomery is the permanent replacement for Eddie Lacy.”

1st Quarter: “Christine Michael has no burst, and his vision is not good. No wonder the Seahawks cut him.”

3rd Quarter: “Michael just showed the Seahawks how dumb they are! What burst and vision!!!”

1st Quarter: “Mike McCarthy is a terrible game manager.”

3rd Quarter: “Mike McCarthy is back! He’s definitely saved his job.”

4th Quarter: “McCarthy deserves to get fired. What an epic collapse.”

End of Game: “What a great game! We’re playoff bound!”

3rd Quarter: “The secondary has been really good the last two games!”

4th Quarter: “This might be the worst secondary I’ve ever seen.”

Last Week: “Davante Adams is a Pro Bowler.”

This Week: “Davante Adams is terrible.”

3rd Quarter: “We are great. Playoffs, here we come!”

4th Quarter: “This team is garbage. They are done!”

End of Game: “The Packers are so lucky.”

We all love the Packers. For many of us it ranges from our favorite pastime to an obsession. But let’s remember one thing. This is a historic run. The Packers were lifeless a month ago, and now control their own destiny in making the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers is playing some of the best football of his life. The Packers have a chance to extend their playoff streak to 8 consecutive years. They may be the scariest team to play in the NFC. Rather than living or dying on every single play, let’s take a step back and enjoy the ride.
