Packers receive good early odds at 2020 Super Bowl

Super Bowl LIII is complete and even though Packer fans have been looking towards next season for some time now, its time for the rest of the NFL to start thinking about next year.

Even with the Packers getting a new head coach, the Las Vegas odds makers are giving the Packers good odds of winning Super Bowl LIV. The Packers are pegged with 18/1 odds, which puts them ninth overall.

The New England Patriots remain the odds on favorite to repeat as champions according to the Las Vegas. They are followed by the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys are listed right after the Packers in 10th and 11th.

It makes sense that the Packers would be listed as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl next year. As long as you have a healthy Aaron Rodgers, anything is possible.

The Packers defense ranked 18th in the league last year in total defense according to ESPN stats. That was definitely an upgrade from the previous year when they ranked 22nd in total defense. This was a young defense under first year defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. With Pettine returning to the run the defense again, along with majority of the coaching staff on that side of the football, they will only get better.

On offense, new Head Coach Matt Lafleur will be bringing a new offensive scheme to the organization. This change should inject new energy into an offense that got predictable and team that went flat. Besides having Rodgers on that side of the ball, the organization found an explosive running back in Aaron Jones. They also had young receivers who were playing in some big time roles. With some key free agent signings and draft picks, the offense and depth on this team should improve.

It is always a good when one of your star players comes out and says he guarantees that the Packers will be playing in the Super Bowl in 2020 like Aaron Jones did.
