It’s mock draft season in the NFL and when it comes to the Green Bay Packers, the experts have a wide variety of first-round selections that they think they could make.

After missing the playoffs for the second season in a row, the Green Bay Packers find themselves in the midst of a mini-rebuild that general manager Brian Gutekunst is trying to conduct on the fly.

In order for this offseason to be considered a success, the Packers must infuse this roster with talented playmakers by utilizing free agency and perhaps even more importantly, they need to hit on their draft picks. With two first-round selections, Green Bay is in a great position to add dynamic players to this team.

The mock drafts below will cover the Green Bay Packers first round and we see a wide variety of potential players that they could select.

Observations

For as much of a need as the edge rushing position is, only two of these mock drafts have the Green Bay Packers selecting one with their 12th overall pick, which is what most expect them to do.

My favorite draft is Brad Kelly’s because he has the Packers landing elite edge rusher Brian Burns who can make an impact from day one at a position of need. Also, adding Irv Smith Jr. at 30 will give Green Bay a well rounded tight end that will hopefully give them stability for years to come at that position.

On the other hand, my least favorite draft belongs to Mel Kiper Jr. as he has Green Bay drafting a receiver and a linebacker when there are other positions that should be made priority and in my opinion, Marquise Brown at 12 is a reach.

Another interesting note is that two of the drafts have Devin White falling to the Packers at 12, which would be a big surprise to me if he ends up there. Although inside linebacker isn’t a top need, it would be difficult to pass on White if he is available.

The Green Bay Packers have been one of the teams linked to wide receiver Antonio Brown, and Will Brinson believes they will trade their 30th overall pick to acquire Brown. This would be the blockbuster move many fans are waiting for and would give the Packers the best receiving duo in the NFL.

There is still a lot that can change between now and when the draft takes place and depending on what needs the Packers address in free agency, will dictate what they do in the draft. With a number of holes to fill on the roster this offseason, it will be interesting to see what moves are made.
