The NFL draft is vastly approaching and the Green Bay Packers have some holes to fill. They already added some solid signings in free agency, 2 edge rushers, 1 safety, and an offensive lineman. These moves free up Gutenkunst from drafting for need, instead he will be able to draft best talent available. Let’s dive into this mock draft and see who I have selected. D.K Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss

Few, if any players in the NFL can match his physique. Strength is evenly distributed throughout his body, and it regularly shows up on film. Metcalf’s long speed can be too fast for some cornerbacks to handle, as his stride length eats up grass in an instant. Needs to work on his route tree, but would be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.

Clelin Ferrell, EDGE, Clemson

Elite competitor who takes no plays off. High-energy in all phases, vocal and emotional locker room leader. Physicality and toughness will not be questioned. Eyes on the quarterback to find the fastest path to the pocket. Steps down when unblocked and finds pullers. Doesn’t bite too early on play-action rollouts, keeps edge contain.

Irv Smith Jr, TE, Alabama

Smith has consistent flashes in the receiving game and will enter the league with blocking chops as well. There’s not a lot of cons to Smith’s profile, he’s a very well rounded player who should be able to transition quickly to the pros.

Amani Hooker, S, Iowa

While Hooker lacks the initial burst and range to play in single high, he’s strong in Cover-2 and in shallow zones thanks to terrific football IQ, clean footwork for sudden transitions and good ball skills. Effective block shedding from the slot to blow up screens and impact the run. Hooker should be a starter who can be a true asset both vs. the run and pass. Should transition quickly thanks to football IQ.
