The media is going to run away with every storyline until the regular season starts. That is why none of us should be surprised by the latest headlines involving Matt LaFleur and Aaron Rodgers.

This week, the Packers just wrapped up their joint practices with the Houston Texans. Tonight the two teams will face-off for week one of the preseason. There may even be some bad blood between the two organizations after fights broke out at both practices.

However, training camp fights are an old story.

The new trend is latching onto anything Rodgers says that remotely drives a wedge between him and his head coach. It happened last season with Mike McCarthy and when he was fired, the lense in which we look at and criticize Rodgers intensified.

A couple of months ago Rodgers and LaFleur talked about freedom the QB should have at the line of scrimmage. When Rodgers said he expects to have freedom that meant he suddenly can’t get along with anyone.

Now when he and LaFleur had differentiating opinions on joint practices the flood gates opened once again. Tuesday, LaFleur said he would “100 percent” want to do them again. Meanwhile, Rodgers wouldn’t mind having another 14-year gap between them.

Naturally, this means these two aren’t getting along. There’s no way two people of two different perspectives could have their own opinions. Even a quarterback and his coach.

Sadly, this is the world we live in but the goods news is football is back. It couldn’t have come soon enough.
