3 Things to Watch

Offensive Shootout

I believe I have stated this every week this season so far, so one of these times I am going to get it right. I think this is going to be an offensive shootout. Both offensives will move the ball up and down the field with ease. The Rodgers and the Packers offense will continue to be surgical moving the football down the field. While, Tom Brady will have the authority to unleash the ball at will. I feel like this game will have some big offensive numbers. The Buccaneers have outscored opponents 48-14 in the opening quarter of games this season, the best mark in the NFL. So a fast start by the Packers is extremely important today.

Packers Defensive will have at least one turnover

The Packers have the highest rated cornerback in the NFL in 2020 according to PFF.com, in Jaire Alexander. Tom Brady does not make too many mistakes or throw a lot of interceptions. But, this season he has already thrown 4 interceptions in 5 games. This could be the week that Alexander and the rest of the Packers defense comes up big with an interception or two, especially if this game becomes a shootout and the ball is being thrown all over the field.

Packers Running Game vs Buccaneers Run Defense

Aaron Jones has risen to the top of the NFL. He is a dual threat and a nice compliment to Aaron Rodgers and the passing game. The Tamp Bay run defense is currently one of the best in the league right now. They have held each of their past three opponents to under 50 yards rushing. Dating back to last season, Tampa Bay has held 11 consecutive opponents under 100 yards rushing. On the other side of the football, Aaron Jones has gone over 100 yards rushing in two of the teams four games. If he can find some lanes, he could have similar success this week. I don’t expect 100 yards but maybe 75 yards. Plus, the passing game could set up the run today for the Packers.

Final Analysis

I think the Packers offense is going to be too explosive for the Tampa Bay defense to contain. They have not seen an offense like this so far this season. Green Bay had a week off to get healthy, Adams and Clark will return, and prepare for the Tampa defense. The Packer defense will create a turnover and make the defensive stops necessary when it counts.
