In recent years, the Southeastern Conference has had the most NFL draft picks of any college football conference. But which conferences have had the most NFL draft picks overall? What will your bet on the NCAAF be this year? Do you think there will be some surprises come draft weekend?

Here’s a look at the top four.

The SEC has had the most NFL draft picks of any conference for the past 10 years

For the past 10 years, the SEC has had a lock on NFL draft picks above all other conferences. This can be attributed to the high talent level of players in the conference and the amount of top-tier programs that produce these players consistently year after year.

From powerhouse juggernauts like Alabama, LSU, and Florida to smaller, more underrated programs like Mississippi State and Auburn, there is no shortage of SEC teams contributing premier talent to the NFL.

In 2022, the SEC had seven of the first 15 selections drafted, increasing the conference’s first round draft picks to 135 since 2010. SEC’s total NFL draft picks were 65 in 2022.

The Big-10 is coming up at second with 48 draft picks

The Big-10 conference proved once again to be a powerhouse of collegiate athletics in the 2022 NFL Draft. With 48 selections, the Big-10 came in second only behind the SEC’s dominant 65 picks.

These numbers highlight the depth and breadth of talent coming out of this conference who are ready to make an instant impact in pro football. It will be interesting to see if the Big-10 can replicate this result this year and once again establish itself among college football’s elite conferences.

The Pac-12, Big 12, and T-3 are tied for third in the 2022 NFL Draft Picks

The Pac-12, Big 12, and T-3 conferences were tied for third in the 2022 NFL Draft Picks. All three conferences have a long history of producing football talent, and they seem to be picking up steam in the draft. The number of potential players to be selected from each conference this year will be exciting news for their respective fan bases, who will likely be cheering on their teams come draft day.

While it is impossible to predict who will go where this tied rank is evidence of the impressive talent coming out of each conference. This makes 2023 an especially exciting time for college football fans!

ACC is at our number four spot with 21 2022 NFL Draft Picks

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) put forth yet another impressive display of talent at the 2022 NFL Draft as 21 players were selected, good for fourth-best among all conferences. With such an impressive showing at last year’s draft, it is no surprise that ACC will be one of the conferences to watch in 2023.

It’s no surprise that the SEC has had the most NFL draft picks of any conference for the past 10 years. With their continuous top-tier recruits and successful coaching, they always produce outstanding football players who go on to have fantastic professional careers.

However, it is interesting to see that the Big-10 is coming up at second with 48 draft picks – this is probably due in part to more competitive recruiting as well as the superb coaching staff. The Pac-12, Big 12, and T-3 were tied for third in the 2022 NFL Draft Picks, which goes to show that there is a lot of parity among these conferences.

Lastly,  ACC was at number four with 21 2022 NFL Draft Picks. Although they may not be boasting the same numbers as some other conferences, they are sure to be one conference to watch come the 2023 draft.
