Green Bay Packers WR Jake Kumerow was released on Saturday morning, which comes as somewhat of a surprise. Kumerow played in approximately 30% of all offensive snaps last season and was expected to enter 2020 as the 4th WR on the depth-chart, behind Davante Adams, Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Kumerow, a fan favorite and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater alum, caught 12 passes for 219 yards and 1 Touchdown last year. Kumerow was positively recognized last year for his run blocking and special teams play. Without him and former Packers WR Geronimo Allison in the mix, I foresee the Packers Depth Chart as Adams (1), Lazard (2), MVS (3), St. Brown (4) with chances of Malik Turner, Darrius Shepherd and Reggie Begelton of making the team.

I’ll always remember Kumerow for the long touchdown he had up the right sideline vs. Oakland and the amazing, downfield catch he had on Sunday Night Football at Kansas City. Good luck to Jake moving forward.
