The Green Bay Packers are on their Week 5 bye, and it could not have come at a better time. When the 2025 NFL schedule was released, most people associated with the Packers let out a collective groan about a Week 5 bye. As it turns out the early bye is exactly what the Green Bay Packers needed after 4 weeks of football. Today we dive into the Green Bay Packers Studs and Duds so far in the 2025 season.
Stud – Micah Parsons

Our first Green Bay Packers Studs and Duds starts off with an obvious stud, Edge Micah Parsons. Since arriving in Title town Parsons has showed exactly why the Packers wanted to invest draft capital and such a hefty contract into him. Parsons is sitting with an overall PFF grade of 92.7 with 25 pressures in just 4 games. He also has compiled 2.5 sacks in those 4 games. However the most important part of Micah Parsons is how he makes all the players around him better. There is no debate his presence is felt when he is on the field. On almost every single play the opposing team needs to commit two players just to try and slow Parsons down. For the most part teams are only marginally slowing him down. Teams are having to think of a strategic game plan every week to account for Micah.
Dud – Coaching

2nd on our list of Green Bay Packers Studs and Duds is the coaching staff of the Packers. The two main coaches that have been duds so far this season is Head Coach Matt Lafleur and special teams coach Rich Bisaccia. These last two weeks have really opened the discussion about these two coaches. Matt Lafleur’s questionable play calling and clock management were on full display in Dallas. Earlier in the game the Packers could have went for it on 4th and 2 and decided to play scared. If there was ever a team to go for it on 4th down, it is the Dallas Cowboys. One of the worst defenses after 4 weeks in NFL History. Yet Lafleur was too scared to go for it. In overtime he then played not to lose the game rather than to win it. Wasting the rest of the clock because you are scared to give the ball back to Dallas can not be how you call the end of that game. On to the 2nd dud of Packers coaches isRich Bisaccia. Truly it is surprising he still has a job at this point. Since becoming the highest paid special teams coach in the NFL the Green Bay Packers special teams is still a liability. Costing the Packers valuable points the last two weeks which resulted in two losses that should have been wins. You would think after how the Packers choked away a playoff game from a blocked punt that Matt Lafleur would learn not to hold onto special teams coaches too long. Well that’s exactly where the Packers are at today.
Stud – Keisean Nixon

Our next Green Bay Packers Stud and Duds is stud Cornerback Keisean Nixon. In the off-season Nixons comments about not wanting to do kick returns because he envisioned himself as CB1 was met with some raised eyebrows. However Nixon is proving the doubters wrong in 2025. He has put together a great start to the NFL season, as seen below with Jacob Morleys tweet. There really isn’t much more that is needed to be said about Nixon. He has certainly earned the right to be CB1.
Dud – 2025 Free Agent Signings

Last on our Green Bay Packers Studs and Duds is the two big free agent signings in the 2025 offseason. Aaron Banks and Nate Hobbs were rewarded with hefty contracts to sign with the Green Bay Packers in free agency. The return on investment thus far has been massively underwhelming. Injuries are apart of football but just 4 games into the season it has been hard to keep these two on the field. Between the two, Hobbs has had a better showing but not enough to keep him off the dud list. Aaron Banks has been public enemy number 1 since receiving a 4 year 77 million dollar deal. His play on the field never warranted such a contract. In the limited time Banks has been on the field, it has not been great. A strength of the offense was suppose to be the offensive line after this signing. That has not yet materialized. The Green Bay Packers need to hope that these two start playing a lot better as the season goes on if they have any chance at contending for a Super Bowl.
