The NFL Draft is fantastic time of the year.

A time when every NFL fan is an armchair GM, and their method of drafting players is by far the very best way to build a championship team.

We here at PTRN are no different.

The entire Packers Talk Radio Network family was asked two questions leading up to tonight’s NFL Draft:

Who do you want the Packers to pick at number 26 in the first round?

Who do you think they will actually pick?

The answers below offer a number of different directions that Ted Thompson might head in the first round of the draft:

Who I want them to pick (name, position) Who I think they will actually pick (name, position)

CD Angeli: Eric Reid (S, LSU);  Sylvester Williams (DT, North Carolina)

Jersey Al Bracco: Trade up for Sheldon Richardson;  Jesse Williams, Datone Jones, Kevin Minter; then trade down...

Jayme Joers: Datone Jones (DE, UCLA);  Trade out of the first round

John Rehor: Matt Elam (S, Florida);  Trade out of the first round

Kyle Cousineau: Eric Reid (S, LSU);  Trade out of the 1st round

Chris Callaway: Jonathan Cyprien (SS, FIU);  Menelik Watson (OT, Florida State)

Kelly Hodgson-Kline: DJ Fluker (OT, Alabama);  Tyler Eifert (TE, Notre Dame) b/c TT is going to do something that no one will consider because he’s Ted.

Richard Chang: Jesse Williams (DT/NT, Alabama);  Eric Reid (S, LSU)

Chris Lempesis: Jesse Williams (DT/NT, Alabama);  Trade out of the first round

Adam Somers:  Jesse Williams (DT/NT, Alabama);  Trade out of the first round

Mike Conklin:  Trade out of first round, take best S available D.J.Swearinger;  Manelik Watson (OT, FSU because that would annoy me the most 🙂 )

Dan Conklin;  Margus Hunt (DE, SMU);  Johnathan Jenkins (DT, Georgia) –The Good Lord just doesn’t make many like him.

Marques Eversoll:  Jonathan Cyprien (SS, FIU);  Datone Jones (DE, UCLA)

As you can see, there are a number of different options that the contributors to PTRN would like to see the Packers go tonight, with trading out of the first round the most popular answer given as to what we think will actually happen.

So what does this mean for the Packers tonight? It means the same as it does every year: the only person who truly knows what is going to happen in the next three days is Ted Thompson.
