Last week Friday, the Green Bay Packers announced that the organization will honor the life and legacy of Bart Starr. The team is planning several celebrations during the Home Opener weekend.

The celebrations will be hosted on the same weekend as the Packers Alumni weekend. Things will kick off on Friday, September 13 with the annual Green & Gold Gala that benefits Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin. The event this year will feature a presentation by Cherry Starr, Bart Starr’s wife, and their son Bart Starr, Jr. There will also be numerous Packers alumni in attendance. The public can purchase tickets to the event by visiting greengoldgala.com.

On Saturday, September 14, there will be a celebration that is free and open to the public. The Starr family, Packers and Rawhide will host the public celebration at Rawhide in New London, Wisconsin.

On Sunday, September 15, during the Packers home opener against the Minnesota Vikings, there will be a halftime program and ceremony to honor the legacy of Bart Starr. This being Packers Alumni weekend, there will be dozens of former players in attendance, including many who played for Bart Starr.

Throughout the 2019 season the Packers will wear a number 15 decal on their jerseys to continue to honor Starr.
