Green Bay Packers: Old Men

Sunday, October 20, 2019, by all accounts, a perfect day for football.

The national anthem was performed by the University of Wisconsin Marching Band which is always a treat, and four Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets flew an epic flyover in honor of Lieutenant Commander James Brice “Drama” Johnson, a lifelong Packers who was killed in March of 2018 in an F-18 crash. (a)

Fellow fans left with slightly sunburned faces and really neat photos.

70,000 plus at Lambeau Sunday witnessed one for the record books.

What a game!

For me, the icing on the cake was the locker room video of Coach LaFleur giving the game ball to Aaron Rodgers.

Every time I see it come across my timeline, I watch it. Same for you?

“And the old man ran one in!”

Simply the best.

Age 35, Aaron Rodgers has accomplished legend status.

Do you remember this week one quote from Rodgers as he presented the game ball to Coach LaFleur?

“It’s not every day you get your first win as an NFL head coach!”

Six and one.

Together the old men of Generation X and Y are doing just fine if you ask me.

For the record, I believe neither one is old.

Like @scotlandpackers, I believe they’re just getting started!

A 13x World Champion vibe always, this November, like Coach LaFleur, my husband is also turning 40 years of age.

To celebrate this milestone I wanted to do something special for my husband, the first part of October I mailed out a notecard, pen, personal note, and stamped return envelope to every man on the active 53 at that time, plus Coach LaFleur, with the ask that they send back a birthday note for him.

I numbered each return envelope to track which players obliged as they arrived via email so that I could give them to my husband unopened.

I got my first one back; return envelope numbered 54.

Coach LaFleur.

Wow, Coach is truly someone special!
