The historic 200th meeting between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears kicks off this Sunday at Noon at Lambeau Field.

Interesting enough, this will be the first time since 2008 that the game between the two teams will be held at noon. Green Bay has won the 10 straight against the Bears at Lambeau Field. The all-time series record between the two teams over the previous 199 games is pretty even. The Packers lead the all-team series, 98-95-6.

The Packers and Bears kicked off the NFL’s 100th season at Soldier Field in another classic close game between the two teams, with Green Bay winning 10-3.

This is another big game for both teams. A Chicago win keeps their slim playoff hopes alive, as they have to win their last 3 games to have a chance. A Green Bay win eliminates Chicago from the playoffs and keeps them in the running for the number two seed in the NFC playoffs. Plus, it it gives them momentum heading into another divisional match-up against the Minnesota Vikings.

The weekly back-and-forth between the two teams has already kicked off. Former Packers and current Bear Safety, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix responded to Aaron Rodgers Reddit AMA on Monday with the question, “What are the first 15 plays for Sunday’s game?”. The Bears need all the advantages they can get this Sunday, so at least Clinton-Dix took a chance.

These two teams know each other better than any two teams in the league. Even with that, there are some key match-ups to watch for:

  • Aaron Jones vs the Bears Linebackers
  • The Smith Brothers and the Packers pass rush vs the Bears offensive line
  • The main match-up will be the Packers defense vs the Bears offense.

The Bears offense has seen some improvement since week 1 and so has their quarterback play. Where on the flip side, the Packers defense has struggled against the run and covering tight ends. However, they do get after the quarterback and create turnovers.

No matter what, this will not be a roll out the helmets game from the Packers. The offense is going to have to play a lot better than it did against the Redskins this past weekend. It’s rivalry week, Packers vs Bears at Lambeau. No matter their records, its a game that when you see the schedule you circle and is a must win. If nothing else, you have to beat the Bears. Go Pack Go!!
