As we kick off 2020, there is no better time than during this Packers bye week to start thinking about which road game to attend next regular season. There is still plenty to play for this year, and there will for sure be a large amount of Packers fans in San Francisco for the NFC Championship Game and fans will definitely travel to the Super Bowl if the team makes it.

This week the NFL released the teams that the Packers will play during the 2020 season. One of the most notable things to me, is the Packers will play 7 playoff teams from this season. To me, theoretically, means a tougher schedule for the NFC North Division Champs.

The Packers are scheduled to face all 4 teams for the NFC South and AFC South, along with the division winners from the NFC West and NFC East.

Home Opponents (with 2019 regular season record):

  • Chicago Bears (8-8)
  • Minnesota Vikings (10-6)
  • Detroit Lions (3-12-1)
  • Atlanta Falcons (7-9)
  • Carolina Panthers (5-11)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars (6-10)
  • Tennessee Titans (9-7)
  • Philadelphia Eagles (9-7)

Away Opponents (with 2019 regular season record):

  • Chicago Bears (8-8)
  • Minnesota Vikings (10-6)
  • Detroit Lions (3-12-1)
  • New Orleans Saints (13-3)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9)
  • Houston Texans (10-6)
  • Indianapolis Colts (7-9)
  • San Francisco 49ers (13-3)

The Packers opponents have a combined 2019 record of 107-100-1.

It’s an interesting schedule overall. The Packers get to rekindle an old NFC Central match-up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If former Packer head coach Mike McCarthy lands with the Carolina Panthers, the home game against them would provide tremendous intrigue.

As for the away games, everyone knows that Packer fans travel well. There are several match-ups to choose from. You could head to the beach, the buoy, the Bay or JJ Watt. There is still plenty of time to decide which away game you want to head to. Plus, the NFL will announce the full schedule around April. No matter what the dates look like, next season is looking to be just as fun schedule wise as this one for those looking to travel with the team.
