Week 1 is in the books and the Packers are 1-0. They beat probably the second best team in the division. Rodgers was vintage Rodgers. He was an absolute surgeon out there Sunday. The Packers best defense against the Vikings was the offense. What else can you say about the game that hasn’t already been said / written. Probably the big news that came out of the game, was the loss of Lane Taylor.

During his press conference on Monday, head coach Matt LaFleur announced that Lane Taylor is done for the season. Taylor is the fourth longest tenured player on the Packers roster. He missed every game last season except for two because of a biceps injury.

He rebound nicely this summer to not only recover from the injury last season but to claim the starting right guard job. The knee injury he suffered on Sunday appears to be just as bad as the Packers originally feared. It is reported that he will undergo surgery and be done for the year.

Fortunately, it seemed like the Packers offensive line did not miss a beat as Lucas Patrick did a nice job of filling in for Taylor. That does mean that Patrick is now set to replace Taylor going forward now. He has a whole week to prepare, which will be the line some preparations before Sunday.

1-0 and we move on to Sunday when the Packers host another divisional foe in the Detroit Lions. The Lions lost to the Bears in week 1. The way the Packers played on Sunday I am confident in their upcoming match against the Lions. Let’s make it a 2-0 start to the season.
