Week 2 baby. How are we FEELING?

We can all agree that Aaron Rodgers, is indeed, a baaaaad man. He went 32/44 with 364 yards and 4 touchdowns. 127.5 passer rating. Just another day in the office for someone who knows a thing or two about that statistic.

After week 1, Packers were the highest rated overall team, along with the highest graded offense, passing offense, and pass-blocking team to start the season.

156 of Rodgers 364 yards (and two touchdowns) went to Davante Adams, and their connection was on point as we had anticipated. Aaron Jones led the teach in rushing with 66 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown. Jamaal Williams had 41 yards with 10 carries.

I don’t know why I have such a strong bias towards Williams, but every week I will continue to gas this man up so that it manifests into the next week. Keep an eye on him.

He’s just a vibe. I’m here for it.

What can we expect?

When it comes down to it, I think Detroit just too banged up and not healthy enough to take on Green Bay’s offense, especially if they play the way they did last week. The Lion’s secondary took the biggest hits when it comes to injuries.

In what would ultimately be a 27-23 Bears victory, the Lions were down three of their top four cornerbacks and playing backups Darryl Roberts and Tony McRae, along with the lone starter left in the lineup, second-year cornerback Amani Oruwariye.

Starting cornerbacks Desmond Trufant and Justin Coleman (nickel) both left Sunday’s game with hamstring injuries. Trufant and Roberts are currently on the IR.

But our secondary seems to be one of the bigger concerns too. I don’t think we lack in this area in terms of talent, it’s just that since it is a younger group of guys, there just isn’t a ton of experience YET.

Jaire Alexander is clearing making it known who he is and what he’s capable of, it’s guys like Darnell Savage and Kevin King that I think have yet to make themselves a household name. Which clearly will come.

I’m confident that Savage is going to be one of the biggest assets once everything starts to mesh and you start to see less of the little faults that comes with being a younger player. He might just be one of those guys that make moves in silence and doesn’t make as much “noise” as Alexander.

That “silence” could be a lethal weapon on the field though, especially when people won’t know what to expect from him.

First-round pick Jeff Okudah missed Week 1 but will play Sunday, so I am anxious to see how he matches up with Davante Adams.

With Adrian Peterson as the Lions lead running back, I think we can expect them to come out of the gates running and test our defense. Especially now. that defensive lineman Kenny Clark, who injured his groin in Week 1, was officially ruled out on Friday.

That leaves Dean Lowry, Tyler Lancaster and Kingsley Keke to do most of the heavy lifting upfront. It’ll be interesting to see if they can rise to the occasion.

Predictions

I feel like from the Lions side, things will be pretty anti-climatic, and with the Packers racking up 43 points last week, I think this game has the potential to be another high scoring game. Also considering that Detroit did blow a 17-point lead, and gave up 21 points ALONE in the 4th.

First game of the season at Lambeau. I’m going to go with 35-21 Packers.

While there won’t be fans, the energy will be felt from all over Wisconsin and emerge in some way at the stadium when the Packers take the field.

I mean since we are the best fans in the NFL, we have to make it work somehow, right?

Cheers y’all. Lets have a weekend.
