Although the Green Bay Packers are considered the last of the “small town teams” they have had good results during their history. They have won four Super Bowl Championships, the last coming in 2010, and they became NFC North Champions in 2019.

With Bryan Bulaga leaving in a free agency, Wagner has filled in nicely when called upon.. Wagner is a good piece of business for the Packers, with a base salary of $2.25 million each season – a lot less than they paid for Bulaga. Another possible advantage is availability, with Bulaga missing parts of previous seasons due to injury.

Christian Kirksey

One of the key factors to Kirksey playing an important role this season is fitness. He has suffered from injuries for large parts of the last two seasons, so he needs to stay fit if he is going to have a chance. The good news for Kirksey is that he offers more to the team than last year’s starter Blake Martinez, so he has been getting plenty of game time.

Malik Taylor

Taylor played his college football for Ferris State and received all conference honors in his junior season. In 2019 Taylor signed with the Packers and landed on the practice squad on September 1st. After failing to make the team last summer, Taylor in 2020 was given the final receiver spot ahead of Malik Turner and Reggie Begelton.

Jon Runyan

Runyan has attained many honors already in his career. He received the Hugh R. Radar Award twice in 2018-2019 as the University of Michigan’s top offensive lineman. He also earned first team All-Big Ten honors as both a junior and a senior and got media recognition as a senior in 2019. Runyan was drafted by the Packers and became the first University of Michigan offensive lineman to be selected by the team since G Joe O’Donnell in 1963. Runyan has filled in for injured players in several games already and done a fine job.

Kamal Martin

One of the Packers breakout stars, Martin will, has missed the start of the season due to an injury to his right knee back in September. He was drafted in the fifth round from the University of Minnesota and is a rising talent that will be important to the Packers when he returns to the squad.

If the Packers can get their newcomers fit and playing regularly, they may well be able to build on their recent form and challenge for Super Bowl honors.
