After a thrilling Sunday Night victory over the San Francisco 49ers, the Packers return home to Lambeau Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers and Steelers have played against each other just twice since Super Bowl XLV. This game will mark the first time that Aaron Rodgers started a game against Pittsburgh at Lambeau Field. This game will also be just the third time ever Hall of Fame quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger will square off. It will also be a homecoming of sorts for Wisconsin native TJ Watt. Here is your game preview of this week 4 matchup between these two historic franchises.

Game Preview: 3 Things to Watch

Packers Offensive Line vs Cameron Hayward

Last week, the Packers young offensive line played well and gave Rodgers plenty of time in the pocket. This week will be their toughest test yet. Cameron Hayward is one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL. Through the first 3 weeks of the season, he has 15 pressures and seven run stops and is the highest rated defensive linemen in the league. Hayward can definitely make things difficult for the Packers. Josh Myers, Royce Newman and Jon Runyan have to play contain him to give the Packers a chance.

Packers Pass Rush

This is the perfect match-up for the Packers defense to get their pass rush going. The Steelers rank dead last in running the football. They do avoid sacks and hurries because of their quick passing attack. This should allow the Packers rushers to just go after the quarterback. If they can force the Steelers into some third and long situations, the blitzs will come giving their rushers the opportunity to get sacks. There could also be plenty of coverage sack opportunities given the talent that the Packers defense has. I am hoping to see several sacks and hurries by the defense on Sunday.

Davante Adams vs Joe Haden

This should be a fantastic match-up to watch on Sunday. Adams and Haden are two of the best at their position. The gamesmanship and strategy between the two should be fascinating. The Packers will try to move Adams all over the field to get him open. I don’t expect Adams to blow past Haden, as I expect Haden to be in his hip pocket all afternoon. The Steelers might help Haden over the top but there is going to be times when Adams is one-on-one with Haden. It will be interesting to see how Rodgers and Adams attack Haden.

Final Analysis

When the schedule was announced, I thought this was going to be tough matchup for the Packers. But after watching the first 3 weeks of the season, I believe that the Packers are the more talented team. The Packers started out fast last week against the 49ers, jumping out to a 17-0 lead. I think the Packers offense is going to need to do the same type of thing this week. This is also a great match-up for the defense to keep turning things around and build confidence. The team will have a hyped up Lambeau Field crowd behind them, which will benefit them. I think the Packers win this one 24-14.
