It has been a labor of love and honor. An environment to channel one of my greatest passions. For a little over a year now, I have been putting my thoughts on everything Green Bay Packers onto this great site. It has been a great privilege thus far and I’m very thankful for the opportunity. This marks my 100th article on the site, and I’ve enjoyed each one of them. I’ve been a hardcore Packer fan since I really knew anything about football. To commemorate this occasion, I wanted to share my greatest Packers memories.

I’m just a little over 36 years of age, so as I’m sure you know, my Packers fandom has been spoiled. The most games I recall seeing a Quarterback start not-named Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre, is Brett Hundley with nine in 2017. So, I’ve seen a lot more success than failure. It’s been easy to be a Packer fan in my lifetime. But what are my favorite moments? What games or plays have helped shape my fandom?

In no particular order, here are my greatest Packers memories so far.

Super Bowl XXXI & XLV Victories

Let’s get the Super Bowls out of the way, shall we?

What could be better than watching your team win it all? I’ve been fortunate enough to see it happen twice in my lifetime. The first time, I was only nine years old. The second, twenty-three. You could say that XXXI had the biggest influence on my young fandom. In grade school the biggest football fans in my class were 49ers or Cowboys fans. I badly wanted the Packers to stand above them finally. Of course, being in Wisconsin, most of the class was still pulling for the Packers. As passionate as I was, most of the class said I was the biggest fan. So, for Super Bowl XXXI, not only did I watch my childhood football heroes achieve greatness, I also enjoyed a victory feeling like the head cheesehead of my class.

Super Bowl XLV of course, was only 14 years later. At 23 years old, this victory had a lot of different feelings. The first was the relief that I didn’t have to wait 30 years for the next Super Bowl win like my elders did before me. Second, was that the Packers decision to move on to Aaron Rodgers had paid off. We’d won it all with Rodgers despite what many had said. I will never forget celebrating with my brother and one of my best friends marching up and down the street wrapped in a Super Bowl 31 Champs flag. Just to share that moment once again, and watch the state fall into a Packers obsession all over again, was a great memory.

Jeff Janis Hail Mary Catch – 2016 Divisional Playoffs

This one likely sails under the radar of many fans. But it was just the moment for me that makes it one of the best. I’ve always taken pride in turning the basement of my home into a Packers shrine. I hang all my autographed memorabilia and I make it into place for any Packer fan to love watching a game in.

In the 2016 playoffs, the Packers Divisonal matchup came on an occasion where I was able to have many friends over to my Packers shrine for the game. The population of my basement reached about 10-12. Which for a Packer game for me was a lot at the time.

When the Packers drove down the field in the final seconds of the game, it was a nail-biting moment. But Aaron Rodgers launched yet another successful Hail Mary to Jeff Janis to take the game into overtime. Just the excitement, the eruption of cheers, the high fives and hugs after that moment from everyone in attendance, will always be a favorite moment ofmine. Sure, the Packers ended up losing that game in overtime, but that will never take away that moment from me that will always live in my heart.

Robert Brooks 99-yard Touchdown

It was a Monday Night Football game in 1995. My Packers fandom was still in it’s young stages. I was watching the Packers take on the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football when the Packers were backed up to their own 1-yard line.

It was a play-action pass with Favre running a pump fake where Robert Brooks absolutely beat Chicago’s cornerback. It led to a 99-yard touchdown catch for Brooks. This will forever live in my head as it was just the shock of such a long touchdown.

I was in second grade at the time, and I recall writing about it in my journal the next day and drawing a picture of Robert Brooks. This led to Brooks becoming one of my favorite players and my first ever Packers jersey was Brooks’ #87.

Packers vs Vikings, Game 1, 2020 Season.

You might think to yourself, why this game? Well, I’ll tell you. September 13, 2020, will forever live in my heart. This is the day my wife and I were married. Normally I wouldn’t schedule my wedding on a Packers game day. But, the year 2020 called for drastic measures. We wanted to ensure a safer environment for our family and friends to still attend our wedding, so we booked a park pavilion. This was the best date we had available.

Naturally, knowing the Packers season opener was at noon, I bought the best antennae I could find to insure we could pick up the Packer game at the park site and we planned for our short ceremony to be before the game. Right after our ceremony was kickoff. My wife and I changed from our formal attire quickly into Packer’s gear and got ready to watch a game to remember, and it didn’t disappoint.

All of our wedding attendees got to watch the game with us as the Packers were victorious 43-34. My favorite moment has to be Jaire Alexander‘s sack of Vikings QB Kirk Cousins in the endzone for a safety. It will always be a source of pride for me that on this date, my Packers delivered a victory for me to remember for the rest of my life.
