The Green Bay Packers are entering a season where their offense doesn’t have that x-factor who could be a difference maker. They have star running back Aaron Jones but he’s a player teams could game plan around. It raises the question to which player can be an x-factor and truly turn heads.

I believe you look no further than WR Romeo Doubs. Doubs is projected to be slotted in at WR2 across from Christian Watson and could take a great second-year leap. All the attention will be on Watson who had a great second half of the season last year. This is Doubs’ opportunity to take some weight off of Watson while making a name for himself.

His rookie season consisted of 42 receptions to go along with 425 reaching yards and 3 TDs in 13 games. Not too bad for a 4th-round rookie who was still earning the trust of Aaron Rodgers. With Jordan Love to take over, I believe that gives Doubs even more of an opportunity to make a splash and show out.

While fans are hoping that one of the Packers receivers stands out, Doubs has the opportunity to go from good to great. He flashed lots of potential in Green Bay’s preseason games last season and showed the kind of receiver he can be. It’s now a matter of consistency and staying healthy after he missed some games last season and sometimes felt like he wasn’t in the game plan.

With Love taking over, the offense will be more simplified and operated differently as it’s a young offense. Defenses will be zoning in on Watson’s blazing speed which should open up opportunities for Doubs and force the defense to look out for both receivers.

It seems like Love has been getting closer with the team as they’ve been building chemistry which should come a long way for the offense. Good chemistry translates to the field and before you know it Doubs could turn into one of Love’s favorite targets.

He doesn’t have to worry about earning a veterans trust and can play true to himself. Green Bay has yet to sign a veteran to the receiver room which means Doubs should continue to establish himself as a WR2 and continue to improve.

Star CB Jaire Alexander had some great things to say about Watson and Doubs as he’s seen their progression so far this offseason. He even admitted Doubs scored a TD on him during practice which shows what he can be capable of.

It’s only a matter of time before Doubs can showcase this talent in game and show he can be the x-factor of this young Packers offense.
