What do I mean by the Packers need to let it rip? I mean, they need to be aggressive. They need to constantly be attacking on all sides of the ball. So far, it seems that the Green Bay Packers have been holding their players back on a tight leash. That has gotten them to 2-5 and earned them nothing but a higher draft pick so far. This season was about evaluation and because of that tight leash, I can honestly say that a proper evaluation has not been accomplished yet.

This is why it is important to “let it rip!” What do they have to lose now? Some games? They’ve already been doing that. Now is the time to let go of the leash and see what the youngest team in the NFL can do! So who specifically needs to let it rip?

Packers Love Let It Rip!

Packers Offense

Matt LaFleur needs to let it rip! We all know what he is capable of as a play caller; he has it in him as an offensive-minded guru. He’s been playing it too safe to protect his young players – enough of that. Call some more explosive chunk plays. This doesn’t mean abandon the run, but my goodness! Stop calling these games so safe. The Packers need to know what they have, and the way this offense is currently being run is not conducive to figuring that out.

The Running Backs

The easy answer to which running back needs to let it rip is Aaron Jones. And yes, yes he does, but I want to make a point of mentioning that the only running back currently scheduled to be on the roster next season is Aaron Jones with a $17,170,000 cap hit! Unless he takes another pay cut or the Packers extend him again (unlikely) he will not be on the team next year. That leaves zero running backs on the roster next season. This is kinda why I suggested last draft season that the Packers should be in on drafting Bijan Robinson. Of course he never made it there anyway.

So what am I suggesting, more AJ Dillon? Nope. I’m suggesting more Emmanuel Wilson. Let’s see Wilson get more possessions and try and see him let it rip! The Packers need to know what they have in the young undrafted running back.

Jordan Love

The Packers need to stop holding Jordan Love’s hand. They have been playing the games like they are trying to prevent Love from making mistakes. Enough of that! Love needs to let it rip! Give him the opportunity to show what he is capable of. I know this means that the receivers need to play better but Love needs to be able show that he is a franchise quarter back. So far this hasn’t happened.

The Packers have ten games to truly find out what Love is about. They need him to let it rip.

By the way, the Packers need to give Dontayvion Wicks more opportunities to let it rip too!

The Packers Defense

Joe Barry, for two and half years, has called way too many soft plays and it doesn’t seem like he is gonna change anytime soon. The result is that this will be the last ten games that he will coordinate for the Green Bay Packers. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. I don’t think there is anything he could do at this point in time to save his job other than the Packers going on a run and making a deep playoff push just because of the defense alone.

Yeah, he is gonna be gone.

So why not let it rip, Joe?! What do you have to lose? This defense needs to prove that the players belong and Joe needs to prove that he can continue to coach in this league. Be more aggressive. Break your own tendencies! If you get beaten because you are being so aggressive, then so be it. Put your players in position to make plays. Let them prove themselves!

Let Jaire Alexander be a man coverage, shut down corner!

Rashan Gary can be a game wrecker so let him move up and down the line on occasion to cause disruption in the back field.

Let those fast line backers blitz more often. Bring the heat.

Lucas Van Ness is extremely talented and has some top quality traits! Let him make plays!

Just be more aggressive. Let this defensive let it rip!

So Will Any Of This Happen?

History tells us no, but we can hope so! It’s what needs to be done. The Packers have to figure out who is gonna be a part of this rebuilt team and who isn’t. The way things are currently going, we don’t know as much as we should. For the final ten games, the Packers need to let it rip and be more aggressive.

Let’s see if they do.
