Last season, one player took a significant leap forward. Tucker Kraft quickly became a reliable weapon for Jordan Love. Kraft didn’t even garner enough national attention for his role in the Packers offense.
Meanwhile, Luke Musgrave’s second season went the opposite direction. Musgrave became plagued by injuries and did not see significant playing time.
One thing the Packers will benefit from is a two tight end set. With Kraft being a yard after catch machine, and the upside of a healthy Musgrave, this has the potential to be a dynamic offense.
Giving the Packers Offense a Boost

Matt LaFleur became creative in the run game with Malik Willis under center. Jordan Love’s injury forced the Packers to rethink their plan.
However this season, the offense primarily ran through Josh Jacobs. Running the damn ball became the status quo. However, the passing game could not catch any steam throughout the year.
If anything, Tucker Kraft became the blanket of safety for Jordan Love. Kraft threw himself into whatever was asked of him. It did not matter if he was throwing the dirtiest blocks, Kraft exemplified the Packer way.
The passing offense had zero rhythm. I believe part of this was due to Love’s injury and the other half was the receivers not helping him out.
With Love’s injury, the receivers needed to step up to help their quarterback. However, the only one to take that step is Tucker Kraft himself. The Packers offense has top three upside with every player healthy.
The two tight end set of Musgrave and Kraft is a bonus. Musgrave is crazy athletic, and Kraft is completely gritty. The combination of these two is a must in getting the Packers where they need to be. A Super Bowl caliber roster is going to require Kraft’s consistency and for Musgrave to get healthy.
Hopefully this season, Packers fans will be able to see LaFleur’s full offensive vision. One that includes the two tight end set. One that will open up and improve every receiver around them.
