Remember when the Packers drafted Tucker Kraft in the 3rd round of the 2023 NFL Draft?
At that point, not much was though of the kid from South Dakota State.
Instead all the focus was on the Packers 2nd round pick Luke Musgrave.
Fast forward two years later and its Kraft that is making waves.
In year 3 Tucker Kraft has shown that he is not just another third round pick.
Kraft has continued to show that he is one of the top tight ends in the NFL.
For the Packers, it’s the first time and in a very long time they have a threat at Tight End.
Rough beginnings

Kraft came out of South Dakota State as more of a blocking tight end and didn’t get used much in his first few games as a rookie.
Instead it was fellow rookie Tight End Musgrave who was getting reps at the number 1 tight end position.
But an injury to Musgrave midway through the 2023 season gave Kraft a chance and since then, he hasn’t relinquished the top tight end spot.
Since then, he has become a top target for Jordan Love, especially in key situations.
2024 and beyond
Last season Kraft established himself as the starting Tight End for the Packers.
He started all 17 games at Tight End and scored 7 touchdowns.
To go along with that he had 707 yards on 50 receptions.
That was good for second on the team behind Jayden Reed.
So far this year Kraft has continued to cement himself as Loves top receiving option.
Through 7 game so far Kraft has 30 receptions for 469 yards and 6 touchdowns.
That is one short of his touchdown total from last year.
Big Day on National Tight Ends day

During Sundays win against the Steelers, Tucker Kraft had a huge night.
Coincidently his performance was also on National Tight Ends day.
Kraft went through the Steeler defense like they were Kraft Mac and Cheese.
He finished the night with 7 catches for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns.
While the 143 yards was a career high, he fell 3 yards short of the Packer single game record by Tight Ends.
The record is held by Richard Rodgers, who had 146 yards in 2015 against the Lions.
While he didn’t get that record, he did manage to make history.
Kraft joined Packers legend Paul Coffman as the only Packers Tight Ends to have 100-plus receiving yards and two-plus touchdowns in a game.
Not to shabby of a game for a guy who was almost an afterthought after being drafted by the Packers.
If Kraft keeps his performance up, he’ll be making more history with one of the most historic franchises in the NFL.
