The Green Bay Packers played their most complete game of the season on Thanksgiving. Jordan Love and Micah Parsons led the way, while Dontayvion Wicks had his breakout performance. Wicks scored two touchdowns and secured the game sealing catch to give the Packers the victory.

The Chicago Bears are now first place in the division and the NFC Conference. The addition of Ben Johnson has proven to be the missing piece. Johnson has changed the culture. Despite narrow victories, all that matters is they are finding ways to win games.

The Bears won their game against the Eagles dominantly through the run game. Putting the NFC on notice as they defeated the struggling Super Bowl Champions. Nonetheless, this key win cannot be denied. The Bears are a good football team, with even better coaching.

The league is better when both the Packers and Bears are solid teams. This rivalry runs deep in rich history. Sunday will truly be a new chapter in the rivalry. The winner will be in first place in the division, making for the most meaningful game between these teams in a long time.

Packers and Bears play Two Times in the next Three Weeks

Not only do we get a great matchup on Sunday, but these teams also face each other again in just two weeks. Each team’s talents are going to be on full display, and the coaching will matter most.

Looking at the Packers, there is potential for Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden, and Savion Williams all to be back. The Packers handled the Lions with key offensive pieces missing. It seems they have also figured out the offense without Tucker Kraft.

Jordan Love has been at his best in November and December. I expect him to continue where he left off in Detroit. Getting more weapons for Love just means Matt LaFleur will be able to open up the playbook more to stretch the field.

Meanwhile, on the defense, the loss of Devonte Wyatt looms large. This is especially true after the Bears ran the ball down the Eagles throats. Quay Walker potentially coming back in this game is crucial for the run defense to be able to thrive.

Evaluating the Bears Success

9-3 is a record that is no fluke. After starting the season 0-2, the Bears have found a formula for winning football. With a point differential of only plus six, one score games have been common. However, they are coming up in clutch moments.

Caleb Williams has still been up and down throughout the season. However, the offensive line has given him opportunities he has never had. Williams ranks first in the average time to throw, meaning he has plenty of time in the pocket. He also has been much better at avoiding sacks.

The defense is relying on turnovers. In two of their losses, the defense did not force a turnover. The other loss coming to the Vikings in week one, where they forced one turnover. Otherwise, in every game, turnovers have been the key for the defense.

This game will be electric on Sunday. Both teams’ matchup very well, and there are no doubts Matt LaFleur and Ben Johnson will have their guys ready to play. With another game in just two weeks, there will be ample opportunities to show which team is ready to take the NFC North.
