It has been a couple of days since the Packers loss to the Bears in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
And the loss still stings for most Packers fans, players and staff.
For most Packer fans, we’ve seen this before.
The Packers get off to a fast start and dominate the first half.
Then the second half comes and all that momentum is gone.
This has happened so much this season.
So much so that building a lead isn’t enough to feel comfertable.
An all too familiar feeling for Packers fans.
The numbness felt when the Bears went in for the go ahead score in the 4th quarter.
A funny feeling in your stomach when the Packers couldn’t score points to end the first half.
Honestly, most people saw this coming.
Why?
Because it has happened before.
In their two previous matchups this season, the Packers dominated the first half, only to have the Bears dominate the second half.
For the Bears it is something they’ve been doing all season, winning the second half and winning close games.
Hence the name “The Cardiac Bears”.
Not making any adjustments

Halftime adjustments are something every team does.
Apparently the Packers offense never adjusted accordingly.
After scoring on every drive except their last one, the Packers came out flat in the second half.
What you saw was the Bears adjusting their defense to pressure Jordan Love.
The end result was rushing throws from Love and taking away the running game.
While Love was still productive during the game, the Packers offense just could muster anything in the second half.
They only scored on one drive in the second half, late in the fourth quarter.
Loveland torches the Packers Defense
On Defense they couldn’t stop Bears TE Colston Loveland in the Wild Card Round.
Loveland constantly was able to find holes in the Packers defense.
On crucial downs, Loveland found a way to keep the Packers defense on the field.
Loveland had a career day with 8 receptions for 137 yards and a 17.1 yard average.
If it wasn’t Loveland torching the Packers defense, it was Caleb Williams.
While Williams struggled in the first half and throughout the second half, when it mattered, he delivered.
Williams did what he does best: get out of the pocket and use his legs to make plays.
Williams ended the day with 361 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Points left on the board
The Packers special teams had a less than subpar day in the Wild Card Round.
If you’ve heard this before, then you probably have been watching the Packers for a while.
It’s a constant theme with the Packers, the special teams costing the Packers the game.
7 points were left on the board for the Packers.
2 missed field goals and an extra point missed by Brandon McManus, who signed a 3 year deal this past offseason.
It all started with a missed 55-yard field goal by McManus.
Then in the fourth quarter, with Packers scoring a touchdown to go up 27-16, McManus missed the extra point keeping the game to a 2 score game.
The last attempt was a 44 yard field goal that would have put the Packers up 30-24.
Had McManus made the field goals and extra points, it would be a different story.
But yet again history repeats itself for the Packers in the playoffs.
Conclusion
The team morale is pretty low, especially when you lose to a divisional rival in the Wild Card Round of the Playoffs.
Considering the Packers had control of the game and weren’t able to finish, this will sting for a while.
There will be a lot to think about this offseason and big decisions will need to be made.
With new president Ed Policy taking the helm, he has to make a decision about the head coach, that will come in the coming days.
But for GM Brian Gutekunst, it will be an offseason making decisions on who to keep and how to improve the team without a first-round pick.
But the Packers as a team need to learn from this and not let it affect them in the future.
Because if this game effects them in the future, we will be talking about this game for a very long time.
