The Packers are a franchise that is known for consistency, confirmed in past seasons through the NFL Players Association. Teams receive an overall ranking based on seventeen different categories.
This year’s list has been leaked by Kalyn Kahler of ESPN. The Packers went from 7th overall in 2025 all the way down to 21st overall.
Most notably, the survey was conducted from November 2nd through December 11th of 2025. The Packers started their five-game losing streak on December 14th. It is fair to wonder that the rankings might even be worse if you take the end of the season into account.
There are several notable areas where the Packers need to improve. While looking at all seventeen categories, here are the ones that stood out to me.
Packers Areas to Improve

Right off the bat, the Packers received a ranking of a C+ for treatment of families. For an organization that prides itself on being owned by the community, anything less than an A is a short coming.
The Packers should set the standard in the league for how they treat families. The team is in the smallest market in major professional sports. Green Bay is a family town where the stadium is located right in the middle of a neighborhood.
The training area and coaching also ranked poorly, both coming in with a C grade. It has been reported that the Packers are working on improving the training room. Nonetheless, it is obvious the team struggled with injuries all year, especially to their most important players.
Most of the time, injuries just happen, it has always been a part of the game. However, the training staff is supposed to put players in a position to succeed. The grade of a C shows a clear disconnect between the players and the staff.
While Matt LaFleur is the offensive play caller, his coordinator choice of Adam Stenavich also received a C grade. It is hard to know exactly what Stenavich’s role is in the offensive as coordinator.
Stenavich’s grade shows the players feel his role is average at best. The Packers have been built on their explosive offense for years. They need a coordinator who will help aid in this and not hinder it.
The last notable category is the Head Coach and General Manager. After Matt LaFleur and Brian Gutekunst signed extensions this offseason, the grades are not incredible for the contracts just signed.
LaFleur received a B- an entire drop from last year’s rank of an A-. The choice to keep LaFleur has been debated, with many saying the Packers would be foolish to move on from him.
The player’s opinion is what matters most. During locker room clean out, the players seemed to support keeping LaFleur. However, the grades show something different, leaving fans pondering if this is the right decision after all.
Overall, a drop from being a top 10 organization to 21st is alarming, especially after signing the head coach and general manager to extensions. Ed Policy has a lot of work to improve on in his first season as CEO. Hopefully the significant drop in rankings will spur the Packers to action as there isn’t time to waste.
