Last week the Packers signed all of their 2026 draft picks by signing their second round pick Brandon Cisse.

The Packers came into the 2026 offseason looking for improvement at the cornerback position.

While they did sign Benjamin St-Juste in Free Agency, the Packers looked to add more in the Draft.

Without a first round pick the Packers had to wait until the second round to pick Cisse.

Luckily Cisse was there when the Packers were up to draft with the 52nd overall pick.

Cisse breaks a streak of the Packers not drafting a CB in the first three rounds in three years.

Here is a look at the newest Packers cornerback.

Consistancy

During his time at South Carolina and North Carolina State Brandon Cisse was consistent as a cornerback.

He spent two years at North Carolina State, playing a reserve role before taking the starting job last year at South Carolina.

In 2024 Cisee had 28 tackles, 1½ for loss and five pass break ups in 9 games.

Last year as a starter, Cisee had 27 tackles, including 1½ for loss, with one interception, five passes broken up, and one forced fumble in 12 games.

Furthermore Cisee allowed a completion rate of just less than 50.0 percent over his 21 starts the last two years

Similar stats but it proves that he is constant with his play.

This is something the Packers lacked last year in their cornerbacks.

Speed and versitility

If theres one thing the Packers love its speed and versitility.

In Brandon Cisse they are getting both.

During his pro day Cisse recorded a 4.41-second 40-yard dash, showing he has the speed to keep up with some of the fastest WRs in the NFL.

Packers scout Mike Owen had said there is a lot to like about Cisse.

“Smart, tough, physical corner. Got good foot quickness, can run, so there’s a lot to like about him, and he’s wired right.” Said Owens.

“That’s the biggest thing at the end of the day.”

When it comes to versatility Cisse has experience in the slot and perimeter.

During his first two years as a cornerback at North Carolina State, Cisse played mostly in the slot.

Last year at South Carolina Cisse played primarily on the perimeter.

When asked of where he would play Cisse says he’s confident he can play anywhere.

“Just a player that can play everywhere,” Cisse said.

“Play fast, physical, relentless, be a student of the game and just looking to contribute in any way they want me to contribute from Day 1 and give the organization everything that I have.”

That is the attitude, the Packers are looking for when it comes to anyone coming into the Packers organization.

Where Cisse will fit

Brandon Cisse will have a chance to get into the starting line up right away and contribute.

As of now the Packers have Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine along with Benjamin St-Juste as their presumptive starting corners.

Cisse will probably be battling for ether a starting corner spot or nickel spot, with opportunities to advance during the season.

It will be hard to see Cisse grabbing one of the starting corners spots, unless he has a really good training camp.

Cisse would be a good fit as of now to play the slot or nickel position, as that will give him time to get accustom to the Packers defensive scheme.

Look for Cisse though to advance up the depth chart, as he gain experience in his first NFL season.
