The Packers certainly have a tough road ahead of them in the 2026 Season.
7 primetime games on national TV, plus not getting a home game until week 3.
Of course this is just a prediction as we never know what teams will show up.
But the initial look at the schedule sees the defending AFC Champions, the reigning NFC North champions twice and multiple teams on the rise.
Here’s a look at the toughest opponents on the Packers schedule in the 2026 season.
1. New England Patriots
To me the toughest opponent on the Packers schedule is the New England Patriots.
When you are the reigning AFC champions and have the runner up in the MVP race Drake Maye, you have every right to be intimidated by this team.
To add to this the Packers are playing the Patriots in Foxborough, a place where the Packers have struggled.
The last time they won in Foxborough was in 2002.
I expect the Packers to play to Patriots tough.
They will have to play mistake free football if they are looking to come out with a win in this one.
2. Chicago Bears

This could’ve been the number 1 toughest opponent.
But the Bears are definitely on the tier of tough opponents for the Packers.
Last season the Packers played the Bears three times and all three games the Packers controlled, until the 4th quarter.
While the Packers were able to come away the first time with the victory, the Bears resilience in the 4th quarter helped them to victory the next two times.
All three were close games, which makes the 2026 match-ups a lot more interesting.
Some minor adjustments for both teams but relatively they have the same rosters as last year.
But who knows, if their will be any changes by the time they meet for the first time in week 5.
The first match up might feature the return of Micah Parsons, who is coming off a season ending ACL injury.
But when you are the defending NFC North Champions and the biggest rival, the Packers-Bears match-up will always be a tough match-up.
3. LA Rams

The Packers and Rams will meet in the first Wednesday Night match-up in LA before Thanksgiving.
If you are hungry for offensive firework show, you may want to tune in to satisfy you hunger before Thanksgiving.
Both teams have offenses that can score points.
Furthermore, you have reigning MVP Matthew Stafford on the other end.
Stafford threw for 46 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions.
The Rams made the NFC Championship on their offensive performance and I don’t expect it to slow down in the 2026 season.
Look for points being scored and maybe the lightbulbs burning out on the scoreboard.
4. Buffalo Bills
One of the Packers biggest test at home is the Buffalo Bills in the 2026 season.
The Bills have been Super Bowl contenders for the last couple of years and this year it is no different, even though they have a new head coach in Joe Brady.
You have Josh Allen on the other end and he’ll always be a factor, no matter who the head coach is.
Last year he threw for 3,668 yards and 25 touchdowns.
It is very rare that the Packers and Bills meet up in the regular season.
This is only the third time Josh Allen has faced the Packers since he was drafted in 2018.
Overall Josh is 1-1 vs the Packers in his previous meetings, losing his first and winning his second match-up.
5. Detroit Lions

This was a tough one to decide but the Packers have seem to struggle no matter what against the Lions in the last couple of years.
Even though the Packers won both match-ups last year, I still believe the Lions are coming back more dangerous than ever.
I especially think the Packers match-up in Detroit will be tough.
The Packers always seem to struggle there.
Plus with Dan Campbell at the helm for the Lions, I believe he’ll have a couple trick plays up his sleeve.
That and maybe constantly going for it on 4th down will keep the Packers on their toes.
Both games will be “must watch” but the road game against the Lions will be the tougher of the two.
