The disresepect currently being put on Packers QB Jordan Love’s name is insane. The doubters and goal post movers constantly lean into team stats aka Wins, Losses, and Superbowls. Today I take a look at why in 2026, it is more important than ever that HC Matt LaFleur opens the playbook and let’s his franchise guy run this offense.
His placement at #72 on NFL’s top 100 is criminal, but what is said in the video below speaks volumes to what his contemporaries see from him.
Packers QB Jordan Love By The Numbers
Since becoming the starter for the Packers, Love has established himself as one of the league’s most explosive passers. He has grown year over year and has consistently shown that he can make any throw you need him to make. While there has definitely been moments of poor judgement, it’s expected that he would need to find his footing as he took the reins from Rodgers. Nowadays, Jordan’s name seems to be synonymous around the league with being cool, calm, and collected, despite what may be happening in the game.
As much as I do not want to do the comparison, perhaps it will give more perspective if I show Aaron’s progress compared to Jordan after 3 seasons as the Packers starter respectively.

In 2025, Love completed 291 of 439 passes (66.3%) for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions while posting a 101.2 passer rating in only 15 starts. Those raw numbers are impressive on their own, but the advanced metrics paint an even stronger picture. Love finished 3rd in the NFL in Total QBR (72.7), 5th in passer rating (101.2), 7th in yards per attempt (7.7), and his touchdown to interception ratio ranked among the league’s best.
He also led four 4th quarter comebacks tying for 3rd in the NFL, and finished 1st in EPA per play. Jordan has also shown that he can make precision throws while also ranking 2nd in Big Time Throw rate according to Pro Football Focus.
Let’s not also forget that near end of the season Jordan was finishing 3rd in the MVP vote. In my mind the only thing stopping the pundits from giving this man his flowers and crown, is the lack of a ring on his finger.
The Chess Table Is Set
Just as important, Love is entering 2026 with the clearest and most dangerous collection of weapons he’s had since taking over as Green Bay’s starter. A healthy Christian Watson changes everything for this offense. When he’s on the field, defenses are forced to account for him on every snap, making him the Packers current WR1. I do believe at some point Matthew Golden will have something to say about that, but that’s a topic for another day….
The number one target on the field for Jordan is TE Tucker Kraft, and it’s not even close.
Kraft has become Love’s most trusted option over the middle and projects to be the focal point of the passing game. His ability to create mismatches against linebackers and safeties, move the chains on third down, and dominate in the red zone makes him the engine that keeps the offense moving. Before his injury last season he was on trajectory to sit atop the league as the 1st or 2nd best Tight End period.
Packer fans should be stoked to hear that at minicamp Kraft said the following.
“With how I feel, I would say I’m gonna get all the conditioning I need in camp to start Week 1 on no pitch count.
I’m doing better than expected, I would really attribute it to the time and the commitment I put into my rehabilitation early on the first three months. That really has catapulted me to where I am now. I feel great. My quad looks great. Swelling is minimal to none. No like weird pains and aches coming out of my treatment and my trainings, so we’re really excited to get this ball rolling and we’re gonna take off.”
Add Jayden Reed’s versatility as a dynamic slot weapon and the explosive upside of Matthew Golden, and the Packers finally have defined roles instead of a crowded rotation.
Watson stretches the field, Reed creates after the catch, Golden brings another vertical threat with polished route running, and Kraft ties it all together as Love’s security blanket.

Packers Have A Hidden Gem In WR Savion Williams
It’s the most complete group Matt LaFleur has put around his quarterback. Not to mention, a fact that drives this home is that the Packers never had Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden, and Tucker Kraft all healthy and available for the same game during the 2025 season. The upside of having the full arsenal beside him, is exactly why the offense should run through Jordan Love’s right arm.
Packers Need To Find Their Identity Fast On Offense
With the massive “?” hovering over the Packers RB room coming into 2026, Matt LaFleur has to stop coaching this offense with the parking brake on. Love has improved every season as Green Bay’s starter, showing better command at the line of scrimmage, more patience against disguised coverages and a willingness to attack tight throwing windows that very few quarterbacks even attempt.
The flashes are no longer flashes, they’re the expectation. Green Bay doesn’t need a quarterback who simply manages games, it has one capable of taking them over in Jordan Love. The Packers have spent 3 years developing Love into their franchise quarterback. Now it’s time to trust him like one. Put the ball in No. 10’s hands, open up the playbook, and let him loose. That’s how this offense reaches its ceiling, and that’s how Green Bay gets back into the Super Bowl conversation.
