Sweet, sweet victory! We’ve finally made it! The Green Bay Packers will find themselves on the practice field this week as training camp kicks off on Wednesday! It is finally here!
And with the start of training camp comes the end of this year’s training camp primers. Over the past few weeks, we focused on the offense, the defense, and the special teams. And finally, we conclude the primers by making our official 53-man roster prediction!
And like it was last year, it’ll be wrong because a lot can happen over the next few weeks of training camp. But, that doesn’t take away from the fun of trying to predict what the 2026 Green Bay Packers will look like! There isn’t a whole lot of data or science involved in these predictions, just gut and somethings that I’ve been hearing.
So, no more stalling. Let’s get to the predictions!
Packers Will Have 24 on Offense Out of Training Camp:

QB– Jordan Love, Tyrod Taylor
RB– Josh Jacobs, MarShawn Lloyd, and Chris Brooks
WR– Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden, Christian Watson, Savion Williams, Bo Melton, Isaiah Neyor, and Skyy Moore
TE– Tucker Kraft, Josh Whyle, and Luke Musgrave
OL– Jordan Morgan, Zach Tom, Sean Rhyan, Aaron Banks, Anthony Belton, Jager Burton, Darian Kinnard, Dalton Cooper, and Josh Gesky
Offensive Notes
The Packers will go into the regular season with just two quarterbacks on the roster while keeping at least one more on the practice squad, which I believe will be Kyron Drones.
The running back situation is by far and away the hardest to predict because we still haven’t heard anything about Josh Jacobs’ legal situation. There will always be a question mark by MarShawn Lloyd’s name due to his injury-prone past.
There will be seven wide recievers to make this roster, but two of them are there solely because of their special teams abilities. I want to believe the Packers are willing to focus on special teams. Bo Melton is a great gunner on kickoffs and punt coverage and Skyy Moore is a kick returner.
I do wonder if Luke Musgrave makes this team. If another team comes and offers a late round pick for the tight end, would the Packers take it?
Offensive line is where I have the one and only undrafted free agent making this team. Ever since 2005, an undrafted free agent has made the week one roster. This year that will be Josh Gesky.
Packers Will Have 26 on Defense Out of Training Camp:

Edge– Barryn Sorrell, Collin Oliver, Lukas Van Ness, Dani Dennis-Sutton, and Arron Mosby
DT– DeVonte Wyatt, Chris McClellan, Javon Hargrave, Karl Brooks, Warren Brinson, and Jonathan Ford
LB– Edgerrin Cooper, Ty’Ron Hopper, Zaire Franklin, Isaiah McDuffie, and Kristian Welch
CB– Keisean Nixon, Kamal Hadden, Brandon Cisse, Domani Jackson, Benjamin St-Juste
S– Xavier McKinney, Javon Bullard, Evan Williams, Kitan Oladapo, and Jonathan Baldwin
Defensive Notes
Last year, I had the Packers keeping six edge guys, but this year it’ll be five. This is because the Packers are moving to a 3-4 defense, meaning they will need more interior guys. So, I have six defensive tackles making this team. Of course, Micah Parsons will not be on the initial 53-man roster due to still working his way back from his ACL injury.
I’m pretty confident in my linebacker prediction. Those are the top five guys and they even add some quality play to special teams as well.
Cornerback is pretty tough. As you can see, I left a notable name off of the prediciton. I don’t believe Carrington Valentine makes this team. I just don’t think he will be much better than Kamal Hadden, so why keep him around at a higher cost?
The Three Specialists

The last three will always go to the special teams specialists.
Kicker– Trey Smack
Punter– Daniel Whelan
LS– Matt Orzech
Of note here is the kicker, Trey Smack. I think for Smack not to make this team, he will either have to have sustained an injury or not do anything in training camp and preseason while Lucas Havrisik doesn’t miss a kick. It’s Trey Smack’s job to lose.
There are so many ways this whole roster building thing will shape out and this is just one of many predictions! I am super excited to see how it all breaks out!
But regardless!
Go Pack Go!
