Cheesehead Radio: Two Down, Four to Go

The Houston Texans came to town, and the Packers delivered round two of Aaron Rodgers’ hunch that the team can run the table and make the playoffs. But, despite the feel-good win, the Lions continue to keep distance between Green Bay and the division lead, and the formidable Seattle Seahawks come to town on Sunday.

While they are all must-wins, THIS is the one the Packers need to win NOW. Expect nothing less than a knock-down, drag-out fight between two teams with a lot of recent history and not a whole ton of good will for each other.

Cheesehead Radio: Into The Tent with Bart Winkler

What exactly is in that sideline tent? A training table? A bathroom, A secret chamber full of gamma rays? Whatever Aaron Rodgers found in that tent, he helped the Green Bay Packers find their footing, notching a victory over the Eagles on the road, ending a four-game losing streak that had Packer Nation collectively ready to jump off the bandwagon.

But with that win, the Packers appear poised to make good on Rodgers’ prediction that they will run the table and make the playoffs this year. With one game out of six already in the win column, could the Packers do the impossible, and turn the entire season around?

There are few people able to answer that question, but one guy who will do his best is none other than our special guest Bart Winkler, the better half of Chuck & Winkler  Weekday Mornings on Green Bay’s .

Cheesehead Radio: The One With Wayne Larrivee

The Green Bay #Packers went down to Tennessee for what should have been an easy win over a middling Titans team. Instead, the offense stalled, the defense apalled, and Mason Crosby even missed an extra point, as if to say the Pack couldn’t mount a comeback even if they wanted to.

And it didn’t really seem like they did want to.

So, with the Pack falling to 4-5 for the first time since 2008 (not exactly a banner year for those with short memories), Packer fans find themselves in an emotional, existential crisis. Is this the end of the road for McCarthy and Co.? Could Ted Thompson give way to Eliot Wolf? Could Aaron Rodgers’ window of opportunity already be closed?

If you need and answer, you only need look to our special guest, the voice of the Packers Radio Network broadcasts of every Packer game, Wayne Larrivee. No one is better positioned to give the CHR gang the best observations of how your Packers will fare the rest of the way out.

Cheesehead Radio: Moral Victories with Aaron Nagler

It was a narrow one-point loss on the road, with a depleted lineup against a pretty good offense…so are we supposed to feel? On one hand, the Packers banged out a pretty good game against a good team, giving us hope that a playoff run is possible as they get back  to full strength. On the other hand, the conference loss drops the Packers to 4-3 and still looking up at the Minnesota Vikings in the division.

So, how should we feel about the 2016 Green Bay Packers? Well, if the Cheesehead Radio gang can’t figure it out for you, we welcome back into the studio the inestimable Aaron Nagler, founder of CheeseheadTV and now the social media guru for the Green Bay Press-Gazette’s PackersNews. You won’t want to miss a single moment of Nags as the CHR gang prep you for this week’s upcoming game against the Colts

Cheesehead Radio: Meh…with Bill Huber

A win is a win. Right?

Certainly, with the Packers suddenly within a game of the division lead, all things appear to be looking up? But the Packers got a victory last Thursday night against a third-string quarterback of essentially the NFL version of a JV team. While it made us all feel good, the creeping anxiety hasn’t been fully relieved. With a visit to Atlanta this weekend, the Packers will find themselves facing a pretty decent test as to how far “back” they’ve come since the loss to the Cowboys.

Joining us tonight will be the publisher of the Packer Report, Bill Huber. Definitely worth your time to listen in.

Cheesehead Radio: Deer in Headlights with Brett Christopherson

What the heck is going on out there?

Remember when the Packers used to play inspired football at home?

Remember when Aaron Rodgers threw with accuracy?

Remember when the Packers had healthy corners and running backs?

It was a tough loss against the Cowboys this past Sunday, and the Packers Twitterverse has pumped the End of the World storyline into high gear. Is it really that bad? Is the McCarthy Era showing signs of reaching the end? Is Aaron Rodgers in a two-season-long slump, or has he just grown old before out eyes? Most of all, can this team recapture their symergy and notch a division win against the Bears on Thursday night?

All these questions will be answered on Cheesehead Radio.  Joining us tonight will be the intrepid multimedia guru of the Appleton Post-Crescent and USA Today, as well as the infamous host of Clubhouse Live, Brett Christopherson.

Cheesehead Radio: Redemption, Mostly, with Rob Demovsky

Davante Adams caught a pass.

Eddie Lacy ran like a freight train.

Demarious Randall got a pick.

And Aaron Rodgers played with a chip on his shoulder.

If there was ever the need for a redemption game, it was this week. And the #Packers, to their benefit, had a lot of players who redeemed themselves in the face of criticism as they pulled out a win against the Lions in their home opener.

But, there’s always a gray lining to every sunshiney day: the Pack almost blew what should have been an insurmountable lead, letting the Lions back into the game as Mike McCarthy played conservatively and threw the game on his defense to save the day. Sound familiar?

The Cheesehead Radio crew psychoanalyze all the positives and negatives from Sunday’s game with none other than Rob Demovsky, the Packers beat writer for ESPN NFL Nation. If anyone has any insier information and blunt honesty, it’s Rob. Don’t miss a second.
