The Week in Review at Packers Talk Radio Network

Packers Talk Radio Network

This week at Packers Talk Radio Network:

Ross wonders if the resigning of Matt Flynn-along with the signing of free agent Julius Peppers-signal a change in the way Ted Thompson does business.

Matt thinks that the biggest holes from last season may still remain, including…

Who will be the Packers number one TE. With Jermichael Finley’s career still in limbo, this is a position to keep an eye on.

The Packers Tailgate Tour was out and about this past week, and as par for the course, Mark Murphy was asked about the status of Brett Favre. When it was announced that Favre nearly attended a game in 2013, John had a few words to say about it, including a what if scenario involving the Packers, Favre, and Vince Lombardi.

While Matt provided a Packers full seven round mock draft

And Ian talked about late round pick and undrafted free agents

John thinks waiting for the NFL Draft-especially this year with it being in May-is worse than watching paint dry.

Meeting former Packers QB Lynn Dickey was a fantastic trip down memory lane for one of our writers.

Sean Richardson was the focus of this week’s player profile series.

And From the Benches was back this week with special guest Cody Bauer talking about the upcoming draft.

Ross gave the Packers a full scale audit following their plunge into free agency.

Ian gives everyone an appreciation of Jermichael Finley.

John wonders whether there are reasons to be concerned about the Packers passing game.

John also says there are still plenty of question marks surrounding the Packers.

Are the Packers better off leaving Micah Hyde at cornerback? Perhaps.

Matt takes a trip around the NFC North looking at every team’s gains and losses.

This week’s player profile series focuses on the reigning AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Eddie Lacy.

This week at Packers Talk Radio Network:

Ryan Braun’s return to Miller Park following a 65 game suspension last season caused John to say that there is a double standard in how athletes are viewed, and how Packers fans view Brett Favre is proof of this.

John also had a few words to say about the disaster known as Quarterback Bracketology at NFL.com. What odds do you think a site like MyTopSportsbooks.com would have given that Rich Gannnon would beat out Brett Favre?

The entire PTRN staff came together to produce a three round mock draft, with commentary about the Packers selections.

Four was the magic number this week, as Ian gave us 4 players who could play a big role in the Packers offense next season…

Matt gave us the names of four players who could develop in 2014

And Ian wrote about 4 defensive players who may play a big role for the Packers in 2014.

Matt says this season is a make or break season for Dom Capers. I wonder what everyone else thinks of this idea.

We took a look at recently re-signed FB John Kuuuuuuuuhn in a player profile.

And Cheesehead Radio returned to the airwaves with a jam packed show featuring an interview with Packers S Sean Richardson. A must listen to episode.

From The Benches: KUUUHHHHNNNNN!!!!

From the Benches Packers Podcast

The Boys are back and better than ever. The show begins with a recap of the John Kuhn re-signing, and the guys give their opinions on the role of the running back situation going forward. Following that the boys go behind the bench and discuss Ross’s story on Packerstalk.com discussing the new defense and how that may affect the outside linebacker position going into the draft. Conveniently the guys continue their draft series discussing outside linebackers that could fit the Packers system both early and late in the draft before Ryan discusses pro days in the signature segment of “You’re gonna want to cut that.” The show ends with final four predictions and a moment of silence for Ted Mosby’s deceased wife, Tracy McConnell.

The Week in Review at Packers Talk Radio Network

Packers Talk Radio Network

This week at Packers Talk Radio Network:

With compensatory picks now distributed, Ian gives us his updated Packers mock draft.

Matt discusses how the Packers got a steal with their compensatory picks.

Someone this week came up with the worst idea ever for the Packers-and it’s a doozy. Good thing it will never happen.

Jacob takes a look at the questions the Packers have at center.

Ross addresses the elephant in the room-namely how Julius Peppers may be used in the Packers defense.

Speaking of the “elephant” position, could Nick Perry benefit the most from Julius Peppers? Time will tell.

From the Benches discussed the “elephant” position as well in their latest podcast.

The fantastic documentary “Last Day at Lambeau”, chronicling the divorce of Brett Favre and the Packers, is now available online, and can be viewed right here.

John also discusses Brett Favre in this article, questioning the legitimacy of the Quarterback Bracketology currently taking place at NFL.com

Sticking with the quarterback position, Ian believes finding a quality backup to Aaron Rodgers should be a priority. After last season, I think everyone would agree.

Mike McCarthy made it official this week, saying Bryan Bulaga would return to right tackle this season, and Ross covers this news.

Matt thinks resigning James Starks solidifies an already strong running back group.

Packers Talk Radio Network

This week at Packers Talk Radio Network:

James Jones signed with the Raiders this week, and Ian wonders if the Packers will regret letting him walk away.

Speaking of walking away, Marshall Newhouse’s often angst filled tenure with the Packers came to an end this week when he signed with the Bengals. John says his final act as a Packer taught us the meaning of class.

A much quieter week in free agent signings this past week, with the re-signing of James Starks being the big news.

Ross ponders whether the re-signing of James Starks also signals the end of John Kuhn in Green Bay.

Matt says that although the Packers have plenty of weapons on offense, they still have needs on offense.

Ian gave us five players the Packers could have looked at in week two in free agency-they signed none of them.

Jacob discussed several draft combinations the Packers may be considering.

Are the Packers better or worse now than they were just a few weeks ago? Ross looks at this in depth.

John provided us with a great Bart Starr tribute video to satisfy our Packers fix.

Out of the Pocket was back with their latest episode, featuring special guest Tom Wrigglesworth AKA Aaron Rodgers’ Doppelganger. A great show!

No Huddle Radio was back this week, with special guest Brian Carriveau of Cheesehead TV joining the gang, talking about the upcoming NFL Draft.

Ol’ Bag of Donuts’ latest podcast discussed the free agent activity as only they can.
