Will he or won’t he?  Whether or not Aaron Rodgers will be able to suit up against the Atlanta Falcons is the $500,00 question that leads up to the $1,000,000 question of whether or not the Packers season is over.  All signs had originally pointed to Sunday’s game as a realistic return date for the Packers star QB.

If Rodgers doesn’t play (and Green Bay loses) there are those in the national media claiming that he will be shut down for the season.  I’ve written that I’m not necessarily against this idea.  The thing is I don’t believe for a minute that Aaron Rodgers is OK with the idea.  “Spoiler is not a role that the Packers normally play, but that’s where this season could go.

Why the Packers Will Win: Aaron Charles Rodgers might play.

Why the Falcons Will Win: Aaron Charles Rodgers might not play.

Fantasy Packer to Start: Eddie Lacy- don’t let what happened on Thanksgiving fool you.  Lacy is a must start.  The Falcons rank 26th in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs.  Flynn might continue to struggle but Lacy will get to touch the ball 22-28 times.

Fantasy Packer to Sit: Jordy Nelson- it doesn’t really appear that Nelson has a connection with Matt Flynn.  I would just throw out the Thanksgiving game as I don’t foresee the O-Line getting manhandled like they did against Detroit.  My fear with Nelson is that he and Flynn didn’t get anything going in the comeback against the Vikings either.

Bottom Line: It is incredibly unlikely that the Packers season is going to continue in to the postseason if the Packers cannot get a win.  I am among the most optimistic writers that I read, but sometimes it’s just not your year.  I thought that is 2010 as well while player after player was going on to IR, but that team had Aaron Rodgers, this one does not.  It’s time to start looking towards the 2014 season.  Packers 20 Falcons 28
