Packers Offensive Line: Some Assembly Required | Cheesehead Radio #392 examines the Green Bay Packers’ 35–14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Brian Gutekunst’s emergency offensive-line makeover and the mounting pressure on Matt LaFleur to protect Jordan Love. Plus, a Packers vs. Buccaneers preview, injury updates and a spirited disagreement over those Lambeau Field boos.
Apparently, the offensive line requires assembly after purchase. Unfortunately, Jordan Love has already been using it.
C.D. Angeli, Jersey Al Bracco and Kelly Hodgson uncover the numbers behind the Atlanta embarrassment: one sack hiding relentless pressure, eight handoffs producing seventeen yards and an entire second quarter without an earned first down. Was the defense exhausted, exposed or contributing its own special brand of confusion? We have opinions. They do not all match.
Meanwhile, Laken Tomlinson, Mekhi Becton and Kevin Zeitler arrive to help repair a unit the organization thought it had figured out. Is this smart damage control, failed player development or an admission that the original plan needed considerably more adult supervision?
Tucker Kraft’s reaction to booing sparks an actual debate: are fans protesting the organization, or are we kidding ourselves about who hears it? Love welcomes his new protectors, and Kelly delivers an injury report that offers precious little relief.
Then it’s Tampa Bay preparation: Todd Bowles’ blitzes, Bucky Irving’s tackle-breaking threat and rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels. A winless opponent does not automatically constitute a recovery program.
Our Hot Pockets put LaFleur’s extension, Green Bay’s place in the NFC North and the decision to leave Love playing late in a blowout under scrutiny. We finish with predictions that range from cautious faith to outright numerical nonsense.
New guards. Same quarterback. Please keep him upright.
