With Pick #209 in the 6th Round of 2020 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers choose Simon Stepaniak, OL, Indiana University. Stepaniak was a monster at the NFL Combine, lifting 225 LBs 37 times. That was good for #2 at the Combine! He possesses good size, 6’4″ 321 LBs, with obviously great strength. Stepaniak started 31 out of 41 games, 30 at RG and 1 at LG. He becomes the third Olineman in a row for the Packers, who chose Jon Runyan Jr G, MI at #192 and Jake Hanson C, OR at #208.

Stepaniak may fit into the Packers’ plans for the offensive line, but if anything, he will give them needed depth. Stepaniak could find a way to work himself into the rotation with a strong training camp. The Packers may even view him as a tackle and another Special Teams Contributor. While it’s true that the Packers needed depth and youth along the Oline, it is one of the more difficult positions to find starters. Let’s hope one of these young men turn out to be a stud to replace Bulaga.
