The 2023 NFL Draft has come to an end! The Green Bay Packers’ 2023 draft picks have officially been finalized.
The NFL Draft took place in Kansas City, Missouri and was a huge success. There were over 125,000 people in attendance during the first day of the NFL Draft and it was crazy! I know because I was there! More on that in a later article.
Kansas City and the NFL did an amazing job celebrating these future NFL stars! There were 259 names read this year. Two hundred and fifty-nine dreams met! Two hundred and fifty-nine NFL journeys that officially began this weekend. And there are many more to come when teams begin bringing in undrafted free agents. Football is indeed romantic!
Out of the 259 players drafted this year, the Green Bay Packers launched the careers of thirteen prospects. The Packers clearly had a mission from the start of this draft: get younger and draft for need in the positions that were overflowing with talent. That’s why even though safety was a huge need for the Packers, you only saw them draft one in the seventh round. This was the reverse with the tight end position, which was a need for the Packers and a strength of this draft class therefore the Packers took two early on.
Overall, I feel great about this draft! Brian Gutekunst knocked this one out of the park!
