Well, last week didn’t go according to plan. I mean, it almost did. The Lions lost, yay! The Seahawks lost, great! And finally, the Rams lost. For the Green Bay Packers, those losses helped keep them in the 7th seed and on pace to make the playoffs. The Packers didn’t do their part though. They lost. Oh well, time to move on. So, what needs to happen now?

Division Championship?
The NFC North Division Champion has yet to be crowned and the Packers could still steal that from the Lions.
Since the Lions won on Saturday night, the Packers would need to win out and the Lions would have to lose out. The Lions play the Vikings, Cowboys, and then Vikings again to end the season. It’s not impossible for the Lions to lose out to these teams, but it is a long shot. Pair that with the Packers having to win out. It is an uphill battle for sure. We have seen crazier things happen, but still.
Playoffs Wildcard Chase
The most likely scenario for the Packers to make the playoffs is through the wildcard. The easiest way to make it is simply to just win. If the Packers win out, then they will make the playoffs. But, just in case, what else should happen for the Green and Gold to make a playoff push? Is it possible for the Packers to still make it even with another loss? Well, take a look.
As you can see, it is possible for the Packers to still make the playoffs by losing just one more game. Matter of fact, it is possible for them to make it at 8-9. This scenario is definitely possible but much more difficult.
So, obviously we want the Packers to win, but who needs to lose to help give the Packers the best chance to make the playoffs?
The Packers are currently the 7th seed at 6-7. However, there are seven other teams hovering around that same record:
- 6th Vikings 7-7
- 7th Packers 6-7
- 8th Rams 6-7
- 9th Seahawks 6-7
- 10th Falcons 6-7
- 11th Saints 6-7
- 12th Giants 5-8
- 13th Bears 5-8
Basically, root against all of the those teams (other than the Packers of course). The Packers have the tiebreakers for now, but that could change.
Playoffs – Who To Root For This Sunday?
So Sunday, December 17th, you will want these teams to win:
- Giants over Saints
- Panthers over Falcons
- Browns over Bears
- Commanders over Rams
- Eagles over Seahawks
The Vikings already lost to the Bengals on Saturday.
Early Peak Into Next Week
- Saints over Rams
- Titans over Seahawks
- Colts over Falcons
- Lions over Vikings (unless you think the Lions could lose out and the Packers could win out.)
- Jaguars over Buccaneers
- Cardinals over Bears
- Eagles over Giants
But none of this would even matter if the Packers do just one thing. Win.
