Coming into Sundays game against the Cowboys most predicted the Packers offense to put up points.
What we didn’t expect was the offense to totally dominate the Cowboys defense.
By the end of the first half the Packers had put up 27 points.
Out of the 27 points scored 20 of them were scored by the offense.
By the end of the game the Packers put up 48 points which tied a team record for points scored in a playoff game.
The end result was a 48-32 playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Feeding Jones
The young Packers offense looked unstoppable against one of the top ranked defenses in the NFL.
Right from the start the Packers had a game plan, feed Aaron Jones the ball.
Jones ran all over the Cowboys, as the defense had no answer for him.
He ran for 118 yards on 21 rushes and three touchdowns.
In addition, those three touchdowns tied a franchise record for most touchdowns by one player.
I think would be safe to say it was a record setting day for the Packers offense.
Jordan Love
With Jones and the running game looking unstoppable, it opened up the passing game for Love.
It didn’t matter who was on the other end of Love’s passes, it seemed like every pass Love was throwing was complete.
Love was 16-21 for 272 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Spreading the Football Around
Love’s touchdowns were to 3 different receivers.
First, Dontayvion Wicks was the first receiver to catch a touchdown, with a 20 yard touchdown pass from Love.
Love, who was under pressure, was able to catch Wicks who ran a perfect post route.
Love next touchdown was to Tight End Luke Musgrave.
Musgrave could’ve easily walked into the end zone, that’s how open he was.
Finally, Love’s third and final touchdown was to Romeo Doubs on a 4th and 2 play inside the 5 yard-line.
Doubs was the leading receiver for the game with 6 receptions for 151 yards.
Continuing Success
The Packers offense is on a hot streak the last couple of weeks.
Love has been taking care of the football and the accuracy with his passes has improved a lot.
Furthermore, Love’s decision making under pressure has improved since the beginning of the season.
With the offense clicking at the right time, the Packers now have that confidence to put up points.
However, that confidence will be tested next week against another top defense in the San Fransisco 49ers.
