Cheese Head Radio previews the Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings Week 1 matchup as Jordan Love and the Packers finally open the 2026 NFL season in Minneapolis. Green Bay Packers injuries, Brian Flores’ Vikings defense, Kyler Murray, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Love, and the Packers’ biggest season predictions all take center stage as CD Angeli, Kelly Hodgson, and Jersey Al prepare for Sunday.

The Packers arrive with considerably fewer bullets in the chamber than they would prefer. Josh Jacobs is unavailable, Micah Parsons remains out, and three projected starting offensive linemen appeared on Wednesday’s injury report just before Love gets introduced to Brian Flores’ weekly collection of blitzes, disguises and general quarterback harassment.

Meanwhile, rookie Brandon Cisse gets his first real NFL examination against a Minnesota receiving corps led by Justin Jefferson, while Jonathan Gannon has one intriguing advantage against new Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray: he spent three years coaching him in Arizona.

Then CHR starts making receipts.

How many games will Green Bay win? Who leads the Packers in rushing and receiving? Can the defense actually crack the top 10? Who becomes the surprise player of 2026? And, most importantly, is anything less than multiple playoff victories now a disappointment?

Kelly puts an alarming amount of faith in Tucker Kraft. Al predicts a near-Pro Bowl rookie season for Cisse. CD predicts Jordan Love’s 2011-Aaron-Rodgers-style arrival and somehow talks himself into Lukas Van Ness becoming a breakout player. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Finally, the Hot Pockets arrive: hope springs eternal, Wednesday Night Football gets ordered off Kelly’s lawn, and CD explains why he loves to hate the Bears but simply hates the Vikings.
