Romeo Doubs has come a long way from being just another draft pick.
In fact when he was drafted back in 2022, there wasn’t much thought about Doubs becoming what he is right now.
He was just another draft pick that the could add depth to the Packers WR room.
At most, we though maybe he would be a good slot or even 4th WR.
But Doubs proved us wrong.
He went on to have a very successful rookie season with the Packers, even though injuries hampered him in 2022.
New beginnings in 2023
In 2023, Doubs had a new opportunity in front of him.
With all of the veteran WR gone Doubs had a chance to have a starting role in the Packers offense.
Pair that with a new QB, Doubs has a chance to be “that guy” for new staring QB Jordan Love.
With injuries nagging starting WR Christian Watson, Doubs stepped up and from game 1 stepped up to be a guy Love could depend on.
Development in 2023
We saw Romeo Doubs grow before our eyes.
During the season we saw the trust that Love had in Doubs.
Doubs developed into a dependable WR for Love.
He had at least one reception every game except the last game against Chicago.
Doubs also played in all 17 games last year.
He had career highs in receptions (59), yards (674) and touchdowns (8).
In 2023 he proved that he could be the “go to guy” in this offense.
Hopes for 2024
There are high hopes for the Packers not only has a team but on offense.
With one full season under the offenses belt, there are high expectations for the Packers offense.
The same goes for Romeo Doubs, who is listed on the depth chart as one of the starting WR’s
Look for Doubs to continue his success in the 2024 season.
I think Doubs can outdo his numbers from 2023.
I also think he has a chance to take the number one WR position away from Christan Watson, if injuries keep being an issue.
Doubs has always had the look of a number one receiver and plays like one as well.
If Doubs can keep developing, he might be the biggest steal the Packers have had at WR since Donald Driver.
