The Packers are surging as the team is heading into an important month of football.

5 games remain on the Packers schedule, some could include some playoff implications.

Yes, I am talking about playoffs.

Why?

It’s very simple, December is the month where you can make or break or season.

Furthermore, of the 5 games left, 3 are against NFC North foes.

At 9-3 the Packers are in prime position to make the playoffs.

According to NFL.com Green Bay has a 96% chance of making the playoffs.

The road ahead for the Packers

Green Bay begins the month of December with 3 straight primetime games, with a pivotal division showdown.

The Detroit Lions awaits Green Bay in Detroit as they battle for the second time this season.

The Lions defeated the Packers earlier in November in Green Bay 24-14.

At 10-1, the Lions are pretty much the top of the NFC conference and possibly the whole NFL.

If Green Bay has any chance of winning the division, they must defeat the division leading Lions.

The road though doesn’t get any easier as Green Bay heads to Seattle for a Sunday Night Showdown the week after.

Seattle has been a place where the Packers have struggled.

The last time Green bay won in Seattle was 2008, but since then their have been heartbreaking losses.

This includes a 28-22 loss in the 2014 NFC Championship game.

While Seattle has struggled at times this season, they are still a dangerous team, especially at home.

The Saints will march into town the week after.

But with the Saints struggling, it might be one of the easier games for Green Bay.

As the saying goes though, “Any given Sunday”, anything can happen.

In this case the Saints might be looking to play spoiler for the Packers.

Finishing off the season

Green Bay finishes off the season with 2 divisional games against the Vikings and Bears.

The team will first travel to Minnesota as Green Bay looks to avenge a loss earlier this season.

The Vikings themselves are surging as well with a 10-2 record.

The Bears then come into town to finish off the season.

Chicago has been through a lot with coaching changes, but they will look to end the season on a high note.

Conclusion

December is a pivotal month for the Packers.

While Green Bay has matched their win total from last year, they are looking for more this year.

There is a lot on the line as playoff positioning and spots are all up for grabs.

Green Bay hopes to at least have one home playoff game, but that all starts with winning the divsion.

That all starts with this Thursdays match-up against the Lions.
