As the Packers head into the true dead part of the offseason, it is time to turn the page on this summer’s positional battle series to the Green Bay offensive line. The 2025 Packers will feature a new look offensive line compared to the 2024 Packers. The Packers are set at right tackle, center, and left guard. However, the left tackle and right guard jobs are up for grabs. The four players to watch during training camp are Rasheed Walker, Jordan Morgan, Sean Rhyan, and Anthony Belton.
Center Josh Myers is no longer with the team. GM Brian Gutekunst had a splash signing in free agency by acquiring former 49er G Aaron Banks. Elgton Jenkins is set to slide over to the center position while Banks will now man the left guard position. The highly regarded Zach Tom will continue to stand tall at right tackle for the Packers. Since Green Bay spent a 2024 first round pick and 2025 second pick on offensive linemen, there will be battles for the starting left tackle and right guard positions.
Packers OL Rasheed Walker

Despite being a steady, reliable starting left tackle in 2024, Rasheed Walker finds himself fighting for his job. The former seventh round pick from Penn State enters his final year of his contract. Walker will compete for the starting left tackle position with Jordan Morgan and possibly rookie OL Anthony Belton. Walker is most likely the leader in the clubhouse at the moment, but there is no doubt that the Packers want to see what Morgan is capable of.
According to PFF, Rasheed Walker finished with a pass blocking grade of 79.6. That would make Walker the 21st ranked tackle out of 140 when it comes to pass blocking. However, Walker ranked 107th in run blocking. Walker certainly holds up well against the pass rush which is critical for a player whose primary job is to protect the quarterback’s blindside but his struggle in the running game, does create a few concerns. If Walker can show improvement with his run blocking skills during training, then he will most likely retain the left tackle job.
Packers OL Jordan Morgan

The Packers 2024 first round pick spent the majority of his rookie season on the shelf. Morgan is certainly an undetermined prospect due to his injury struggles last season. Given the fact he was selected in the first round shows the Packers believe that he will be a solid and hopefully, a reliable long term player. The former Arizona Wildcat spent the majority of his college career playing left tackle. Morgan started 37 of 41 games at left tackle during his time at Arizona.
During his short playing time in 2024, Morgan rotated with Sean Rhyan at right guard. He played 120 snaps at RG and 54 at LG, due to a few injuries. The Packers coaching staff made it quite clear this offseason that they intend to give Morgan every possibility to win the starting left tackle job. With the amount of capital put into Morgan and Rasheed Walker entering his last contract season, Green Bay hopes that Morgan will be their long term left tackle. However, he will have to battle it out. Morgan could find himself at RG as well since Sean Rhyan is far from a lock to secure that job.
Packers OL Sean Rhyan

Similar to Rasheed Walker, Sean Rhyan enters his final season of his contract. The current starting right guard appears to be on his way out. With the Packers spending high draft capital on Jordan Morgan and Anthony Belton, Green Bay seems set to let Rhyan walk in free agency. All that being said, Rhyan can certainly win the starting right guard spot for the 2025 season. Even with Belton and Morgan in the mix, assuming Morgan does not land at left tackle, the Packers would love a strong, impressive season from Sean Rhyan.
According to PFF, Rhyan ranked 67th overall out of 136 guards in the NFL. Rhyan is basically an average NFL guard. Ironically on PFF’s grading scale, Rhyan graded higher as a pass blocker than a run blocker. Rhyan is considered to be a people mover especially in the running game. At times, he did show his potential when opening up running lanes for Josh Jacobs. With the addition of Aaron Banks, the Packers want their interior to be large, big players which Sean Rhyan certainly fits that mold.
Packers OL Anthony Belton

In the second round of 2025 NFL Draft, the Packers selected North Carolina St OL Anthony Belton. Anthony Belton, otherwise known as “Escalade”, is a large human being. He is 6’6 and weighs 335 lbs. Since 2023, Belton started 25 games at left tackle for the Wolfpack. He tied for the team lead with 51 pancake blocks during the 2023 season. Belton is a big player who can move people with ease. He fits the new type of interior linemen that the Packers seem to be after.
Although Belton spent the majority of his time in college as a left tackle, so far this offseason, Belton has been getting reps at right guard. It is unlikely that he wins the job over Rhyan or Morgan but with Rhyan’s future in Green Bay up in the air, Belton might be the Packers future starting right guard. There is a chance that he ends up at left tackle but that is unlikely due to the fact the Packers are high on Jordan Morgan and already have a steady starter in Rasheed Walker.
In Conclusion
The two starting jobs that Packer fans should monitor during training camp is the left tackle and right guard spots. Walker, Morgan, Rhyan, and Belton are the names to watch there. However, keep an eye on Jacob Monk and Donovan Jennings. Jennings saw some time with the starters during minicamp and OTAs, primarily due to injuries and absences. Monk also started at center during minicamp and OTAs because Elgton Jenkins is working through a contract restructure. If Jenkins contract issues are not resolved by the start of camp, Monk could see some serious time at center with the starters.
Expect the Packers to give Jordan Morgan every chance to win the left tackle job. There is certainly a real possibility Green Bay gives him the nod at right guard as well. Morgan will have serious work to do to unseat Rasheed Walker at left tackle. Gutekunst loves to create internal competition because he believes that brings out the best in his players. There is no doubt, he has assembled an intense offensive line battle. Hopefully, that approach pays off for Green Bay and the starting left tackle and right guard perform at a high level.
