The NFL is truly in the dog days of summer, with only 8 more weeks until the NFL Season starts. With the NFL Draft and first wave of free agency come and gone, the Green Bay Packers have added multiple position of need to the roster. Today we look at some Potential Free Agents Remaining for the Green Bay Packers.
Rasul Douglas – CB

First on our Potential Free Agents Remaining for Green Bay is former Packer cornerback Rasul Douglas. Now General Manager Brian Gutenkunst does not typically bring back former players. On top of that Douglas himself has aimed some direct tweets at Packers fans stating he would not be going back to Title-town. Nonetheless the Packers still need to add at least one more player to the secondary for depth. The former Bills/Packers CB is still 30 years old and has the natural size to give WRs problems. If for nothing else Rasul probably would like to still play in the NFL. The Packers should at least put in a phone call to Douglas.
Jadeveon Clowney – LB

The second player on our Potential Free Agents Remaining for Green Bay is Jadeveon Clowney. If there is one area the Green Bay Packers may not have done enough, it’s helping the pass rush in 2025. Released former number 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft Jadeveon Clowney is still available. Sure he is 32 years old with a laundry list of injuries in his 10 year NFL Career. That doesn’t change the fact that the Packers do not have a proven pass rusher outside of Rashan Gary. Banking on players like Kingsley Enagbare or Lukas Van Ness to take leaps may be a stretch. Jadeveon Clowney can add some much needed pass rush juice if healthy. The 6’5’’ 255 pound Clowney has compiled 26 sacks over the last 4 seasons with a 70.8 PFF grade in 2024. Jadeveon may be one of the best remaining free agent options left for the Packers to explore.
Asante Samuel Jr. – CB

The last Potential Free Agents Remaining for Green Bay is Asante Samuel Jr. Samuel Jr. A player with potential upside, Samuel Jr. is still just 25 years old, 5’10’’, and 180 pounds. The son of former NFL Great Asante Samuel, Jr. has not made the same name for himself in the NFL as of yet. In Samuel Jr. first 4 seasons he has 6 interceptions with 37 passes broken up. He wasn’t spectacular during his time with the Chargers, but we didn’t get to see him play much for new defensive coordinator Jesse Minter before the injury. Samuel had spent the entirety of his career up to that point under Brandon Staley, and it’s possible he could look better in a different jersey.
