The 2024 first round pick is one week away from the start of his third NFL season. Jordan Morgan, the former 25th overall pick, is set to start training camp as the Packers starting Left Tackle. The basic rule of thumb is an NFL team typically knows what they have in a player after three seasons which is why 2026 could be a make or break season for Morgan.
Morgan’s rookie season was more or less a wash due to a shoulder injury. Then, in his second season, he saw the field at shockingly high rate, playing both tackle and guard. Jordan Morgan played the fifth most snaps on offense for the Packers in 2025. Snap count wise, Morgan was behind, Rasheed Walker and Romeo Doubs, both who are no longer in Green Bay, Jordan Love and Sean Rhyan. Although, the majority of snaps came at right tackle and right guard, this game experience is valuable for a young player.
Jordan Morgan is on the standard 4 year rookie deal. After the 2026 season, the Packers will have the choice to exercise his 5th year option. More importantly, it is typical for young players to receive a contract extension after their third season. This practice is favorable for both the team and the player. Career trajectory wise and financial wise, 2026 is a gigantic year for Jordan Morgan. He could cement himself as the Packers long term left tackle and receive a massive payday. Or, he could struggle and find himself in a tough, uncertain career spot.

It would certainly be great for the Packers, Jordan Morgan, and the fans if Morgan played well this season. It would secure the Packers future at left tackle. It would financially benefit Morgan and it would give Packer fans peace of mind knowing that Jordan Love’s blindside is safe. In order for Jordan Morgan to make that happen, he needs to be blessed health wise, solidify camaraderie and chemistry with his fellow linemen, and trusting his skill and talent.
According to PFF, Jordan Morgan rated as an above average pass blocking offensive linemen in 2025. This should give Morgan a sense of confidence since he played at two positions that he was unaccustomed to. The NFL game pace is fast enough and having to play at an unfamiliar spot certainly speeds things up. Heading into 2026, Morgan gets the opportunity to return to a familiar place. Jordan Morgan solely played left tackle in college. He should be more comfortable at left tackle and the game should slow down for him.
The Packers and Jordan Morgan head into 2026 with high hopes. The Packers coaching staff is excited about Morgan getting his chance at left tackle. Hopefully, he plays at a high level and crushes it this season. Morgan can earn himself a hefty payday and secure his place in the long haul as the Packers starting left tackle.
