The Green Bay Packers defeated the Carolina Panthers 27-19 on Thursday Night Football, improving to 5-3 in the 2026 NFL season. But despite the victory at Lambeau Field, Chris Lempesis has plenty to say about Jordan Love, Matt LaFleur’s play-calling, Green Bay’s nonexistent rushing attack, and an offense seemingly determined to keep opponents alive.
On this episode of Lemps Talkin’ Pack, Chris breaks down a Packers win that should have been comfortable but somehow became another fourth-quarter adventure.
First, some actual good news! Jonathan Gannon’s defense continues to develop into something special. Six sacks, relentless pressure on Bryce Young, and a breakout performance from Ty’Ron Hopper helped Green Bay survive its own offensive incompetence. And with Micah Parsons potentially returning soon, could this defense become truly elite?
Then there’s the offense.
Jordan Love was brilliant in the first half before throwing a costly interception. Matt LaFleur once again embraced conservative play-calling, apparently convinced that repeatedly running into a brick wall will eventually make the wall apologize.
Chris examines Green Bay’s historically dreadful rushing statistics, questions the Jonathan Taylor trade rumors, and wonders why the Packers refuse to let Love throw the football when games are on the line.
Plus:
- Christian Watson’s incredible hospital-to-Lambeau comeback.
- The offensive line’s excellent pass protection and miserable run blocking.
- Another special teams disaster, including a fumbled kickoff and missed extra point.
- The latest on Micah Parsons and the approaching NFL trade deadline.
- Whether this Packers team is a legitimate playoff contender or another one-and-done waiting to happen.
Naturally, there’s a victory beer, some Wisconsin sports celebration, and a healthy dose of basement Packer room frustration.
The Packers won. Chris is relieved. Nobody is particularly reassured.
