Kyle McCord threw four touchdowns in Green Bay’s wild preseason finale, then promptly became a Miami Dolphin and a future sixth-round pick. That pick effectively helped fund the arrival of former third-round running back Kaleb Johnson, while Gutey also dealt for blocking tight end Mark Redman and added veteran Pro Bowler Jonnu Smith. Apparently the Packers discovered roster construction can involve something besides lovingly hoarding draft picks until April.

The crew evaluates the biggest cuts and surprises, including J. Michael Sturdivant making the roster, Will Sheppard and Mark Perry heading out, Anthony Campbell forcing his way onto a seven-man defensive line, and Green Bay treating its practice squad more like an extension of the active roster.
