On this episode of Lemps Talkin’ Pack, the Green Bay Packers are coming off a 17-14 road victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — but was it really a win worth celebrating? Chris Lempesis breaks down a bizarre Packers victory that somehow produced plenty of reasons for optimism AND concern.
Green Bay repeatedly left points on the table, committed 10 penalties for 68 yards, and made enough costly mistakes to turn what could have been a comfortable victory into a nail-biter. Jordan Love and the offense had opportunities, but miscues and missed chances kept Tampa Bay in the game. The defense ultimately showed some real backbone, particularly when it mattered most.
And then there’s the devastating news surrounding linebacker Edgerrin Cooper. His apparent Achilles injury could cost him the rest of the season, adding another major blow to a Packers team already dealing with significant injuries. With Micah Parsons still not ready to return, Green Bay’s defensive ceiling suddenly looks very different.
So where does this leave the Packers at 2-2? Are they a talented team still figuring things out — or a team with serious discipline, identity and consistency problems? And can they clean it up before facing the Chicago Bears?
