Chris and Dave open with apologies, because two guys who spent five weeks declaring this team dead in the water just watched it hang 31 points on the Chicago Bears. Jordan Love posted a 137.5 passer rating and 367 yards, Christian Watson and Matthew Golden looked like a top-five tandem, Tucker Kraft finally looked like Tucker Kraft, and three new offensive linemen off the street changed everything. The guys are convinced the writers of this season are on something, and neither of them trusts that this episode wasn’t just a flashback.
They enjoy it differently, though. One of them walks through a single second-quarter drive play by play as proof that short passes to the backs are the entire blueprint, and makes the contrarian case that getting Josh Jacobs back might actually hurt by tempting everyone to keep running into a wall. The other is thrilled about the long balls but would still rather see eight-yard throws in stride than drop on back and throw that thing a mile. They do agree the defense is finally doing what this podcast has begged for since the Joe Barry era, and that Evan Williams is becoming something special. Also agreed: Bears fans crying about missing Caleb Williams can take a seat, given who Green Bay is playing without.
The betting lines produce a brand new winner who needs to check in and tell everyone who he is, plus a discussion of Lambeau’s swirling winds and what they did to a 22-year-old kicker named Trey Smack. And there’s a practice squad player named Dingle whose promotion would guarantee him a spot in a future episode title.
Dallas comes to Lambeau on Sunday night with Rashan Gary returning to face his old team, and nobody has any idea what to expect from either club. Plus a remembrance of Mike Ditka, a Chicago postgame show that has to be heard to be believed, a late Spielberg picture, and the Brewers in October.

Posting its first show in 2005, Packers Therapy is the longest-running Packers podcast on the Internet. Hosts Chris and Dave began the show as a way of capturing the spirited chats the two co-workers had about the team around the office. The two have no pretense about being experts: they are just two opinionated shareholders who love the team, follow it closely, but don’t always see the Packers fortunes eye to eye.
The guys encourage comments and questions via their Twitter feed @PackersTherapy or email to packerstherapy@yahoo.com and read and respond to as many as they can during each show.
Packers Therapy is a part of the Packers Talk family of podcasts, serving up five distinct podcasts to satisfy the most fervent of Packer fans.
