Analysis: The Packers came into the draft with receiver depth being a need, but after dedicating 33% of their picks to receiver, they now seem to have an overabundance. The 6’3″, 219 pound Janice had an excellent combine, running a 4.42 40, and his 6.64 second 3 cone drill was 3rd best among receivers. Janis was very productive in college, having back to back seasons with over 1,500 receiving yards.

How does he fit with the Packers? Janis joins a now very crowded receiver group. The Packers have 4 receivers who should be locks to make the roster, and I like Jared Abbrederis’ chances making the team as well.   Janis is a talented player, but he will have to impress during the preseason to make the final 53.

NFL comparison – Jordy Nelson is the most obvious comparison. They are very similar in size, but Janis might actually be a little bit faster, but his hands are not as sure, and he doesn’t have the same ability after the catch.
